THE IGNATIUS LIE ON OBAMA'S "BIG GAMBLE ON THE MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD" "COSMIC WAGER" INDEED
Finally the left enemedia is admitting that Obama was behind the ascent of the Muslim Brotherhood early in his presidency (something I havewritten about since early 2009, and meticulously documented in my book, The Post-American Presidency: The Obama Administration's War on America.) The left has been lying and covering for Obama for so long, it was a hard slap in the face to read the NY Times' senior asshat, David Ignatius, all but own up to it in his column, "Obama’s Muslim Brotherhood Gamble."
But Ignatius's brief moment of objective reportage diverges, yet again, into leftist/Islamic propaganda and America-hate. The boy can't help it, he just can't help it. Describing the origins of the Muslim Brotherhood as anti-colonial in nature is patently dishonest.
The pious and devout Muslim Brotherhood actually originated as a response, an attack on "moderate" voices in Islam that emerged in the post-Ottoman era of Ataturk in Turkey. The idea of co-existence with non-Muslims and separation of mosque and state had no theological leg to stand in under pure Islam, authentic Islam (Osama Bin Laden, Mullah Omar, Anwar Awlaki, the Muslim Brotherhood). They are right -- there is no moderate Islam.
Ignatius finally admits that without Obama, the Islamic supremacist Muslim Brotherhood could never have ascended and staged the Islamic coup of this early century, changing the course of human events and setting freedom back centuries.
The Muslim Brotherhood, also called Muslim Brethren or The Society of the Muslim Brothers (Arabic: جمعية الأخوان المسلمون Jamiat al-Ikhwan al-muslimun) is an Islamic organization with a political approach to Islam. It was founded in 1928 by Hassan al-Banna in Egypt after the collapse of the Ottoman Empire.
Ideology
The Muslim Brotherhood opposes secular tendencies of Islamic nations and wants return to the precepts of the Qur'an.
The organization's motto is as follows: “Allah is our objective. The Prophet is our leader. Qur'an is our law. Jihad is our way. Dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope.”
An important aspect of the Muslim Brotherhood ideology is the sanctioning of jihad such as the 2004 fatwa issued by Sheikh Yousef Al-Qaradhawi making it a religious obligation of Muslims to abduct and kill U.S. citizens in Iraq.
Structure
The Brotherhood has branches in 70 countries. They claim to have taken part in most pro-Islamic conflicts, from the Arab-Israeli wars and the Algerian War of Independence to recent conflicts in Afghanistan and Kashmir. Currently, the Egyptian Brotherhood exists as a militant clandestine group, and has been connected to many underground political operations. In other countries, they have more prominent roles, including parliamentary seats. They have not supported movements like al-Jihadand al-Gama'at al-Islamiyya in Egypt and mujahedeen movements of Muslim communities in Europe and the United States.
History
The Muslim Brotherhood began as a social and religious organization in Egypt whose members regarded Islam as a way of life.[...]
The Brotherhood's founder, al-Banna, was a devout admirer of Adolf Hitler and the Nazi regime. During the 1930s, the Brotherhood became more political in nature and an officially political group in 1939. Over the years, the organization developed an apparatus through which to provide military training to its followers and to engage in political terrorism against Egyptian Coptic Christians and government officials.
In 1942, during World War II, Hassan al-Banna set up more Brotherhood branches in Transjordan and Palestine. The headquarters of the Syrian branch moved to Damascus in 1944. After World War II, Egyptian members took violent action against King Farouk’s government. When the organization was banned in Egypt, hundreds moved to Transjordan. Many also participated in the Arab-Israeli War of 1948-1949.

WASHINGTON ― President Obama’s outreach to the Muslim Brotherhood began three years ago in his famous June 2009 speech in Cairo. Ten members of the Brotherhood were invited to listen to the address, and they heard a passage crafted especially for them:“America respects the right of all peaceful and law-abiding voices to be heard around the world, even if we disagree with them. And we will welcome all elected, peaceful governments ― provided they govern with respect for all their people.”Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak didn’t attend the speech, but there was a message for him, too, when Obama said: “Suppressing ideas never succeeds in making them go away.” Obama certainly had that right.The Obama administration has made what might be described as a “cosmic wager” on the Muslim Brotherhood’s peaceful intentions. By courting them in 2009, the U.S. helped legitimize their political aspirations; by refusing to come to Mubarak’s rescue during the Tahrir Square protests a year ago, the U.S. all but guaranteed that the Brotherhood would emerge as a dominant political force in a new Egypt.The Brotherhood is now ascendant, with its “Freedom and Justice Party” having won nearly 50 percent of the seats in Egypt’s post-revolutionary parliament. Its officials have issued soothing statements and pro-free-market position papers. There’s even a Muslim Brotherhood rap video on YouTube, with a catchy beat and this benign refrain: “Freedom we will protect, and justice we will maintain.”More Ignatius dissembling. He refused all efforts by the government of Gamal Abdel Nasser government to recruit or co-opt him, and he was executed in 1966.Facing unrelenting repression, the Brotherhood’s mainstream gradually evolved into a political movement that, on paper at least, disavowed violence; it put down deep roots in Egypt’s professional organizations and won about 20 percent of the seats in parliament when it was allowed to run in 2005. It learned to speak a more conciliatory language.

It was in this tone of reassurance that Brotherhood officials said they would contest only contest 30 percent of the seats in the recent parliamentary elections; in fact, they ran in nearly every district and won a near-majority. The Brotherhood also organized a decisive 77 percent win in last March’s constitutional referendum, which they pegged as a vote to protect language that promises the Islamic Shariah as “the main source of legislation.”Olivier Roy, a French expert on the Muslim world, argues that the Brotherhood will learn democracy by doing it: “Democratic culture does not precede democratic institutions; democratic culture is the internalization of these institutions,” he says. Taliban: Al-Qaeda "operates in Afghanistan under the flag of the Islamic Emirate"
A Taliban spokesman who identified himself as an "Authorized Correspondent by the Media Committee of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan" said that the Taliban will not renounce al Qaeda and that the terror group operates under the command of the "Military Command of the Islamic Emirate."The Taliban official, Abdullah al Wazir, made the statement yesterday in response to a posting at Shumukh al Islam, a jihadist Internet forum linked to al Qaeda. Wazir was replying to a question from a forum member who thought "that by agreeing to negotiations with the United States, the Afghan Taliban has taken the 'first step' to abandon al Qaeda," said the SITE Intelligence Group, which translated the statement.

(Reuters) - Afghan government efforts to bring the Taliban into peace talks are stumbling and bold steps were needed to ensure that a council spearheading the reconciliation process can win the trust of insurgents, said a presidential advisor Sunday.
Assadullah Wafa also expressed concern that Afghans, who have been subjected to one conflict after another, were losing hope that peace was possible from a process that so far has been shrouded in secrecy and conflicting views of likely success.
The government has made some contacts with the Taliban, who have made a strong comeback after being toppled by a U.S. invasion in 20 01, but there are no signs that full-fledged peace talks will happen anytime soon.
U.S. diplomats have also been seeking to broaden exploratory talks that began clandestinely in Germany in late 2010 after the Taliban offered to open a representative office in the Gulf emirate of Qatar, prompting demands for inclusion from Kabul.
"The talk about peace talks is just futile," said Wafa, an advisor to President Hamid Karzai and a former governor in some of Afghanistan's most volatile provinces.
Karzai set up a 70-member High Peace Council two years ago, with Wafa as a member, to try and negotiate an end to the war, now dragging into its eleventh year.
It is meant to represent all ethnic and political alliances in a bid to reach out to the Taliban leadership, as well as convince grassroots insurgent fighters to join the government.
Wafa, however, questioned its effectiveness, and said its wide makeup actually made it difficult for the government to reach out to militant groups.

"I have told President Karzai and he promised that there would be repair of the peace council. I am not afraid to speak out, but it doesn't much bear fruit. There must be a review," he told Reuters in an interview.

The stakes are high. Failure to lure the Taliban to the negotiating table could mean perpetual instability, or even another civil war, once NATO combat troops withdraw in 2014.
Wafa's skepticism extends far beyond the High Peace Council.
He accused regional power Pakistan -- seen as critical to efforts to end the war -- of playing a double game, promising to work for peace while using the Taliban and other groups as proxies to advance its interests inAfghanistan.
Afghanistan is known to want access to Taliban leaders, including Mullah Omar, belonging so the so-called Quetta Shura, named after the Pakistani city where it is said to be based.
They would be the decision makers in any substantive peace negotiations.
"They (Pakistan) say one thing and do another. There is no doubt that Taliban leadership and Mullah Omar are in Quetta. They recruit, fund and people to create instability on this side," Wafa said.
"We have been deprived of peace in the country for the last 30 years and it is because of our neighbors."

Mullah Omar has been wanted by the U.S. State Department's Rewards for Justice program since October 2001, for sheltering Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda militants in the years prior to the 11 September attacks.[1] He is directing theTaliban insurgency against the U.S.-led NATO forces and the Government of Afghanistan.[3][4]
He has demanded that Obama release the most dangerous Al Qaeda leaders from GITMO. Obama has acquiesced and is set to release these war criminals intent on destroying America.
Congress must stop this madman.

Police on Saturday found a motorcycle that had been left in Sukhumvit Soi 71 since Tuesday when three bomb blasts rocked the area. An owner of an electrical appliances repair shop alerted police after he noticed the Honda Wave had been parked in front of his shop for a long time.

Bomb disposal experts and forensic police rushed to the scene and checked the motorcycle.
The motorcycle was purchased from a shop in the Klong Tan area by one of the suspects, said Pol Gen Pansiri Prapawat, national deputy police chief. A police source said the motorcycle was bought for 26,400 baht by Masoud Sedaghatzadeh, 31, who was arrested in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday after fleeing Thailand. Witnesses confirmed that the suspects used the motorcycle for travelling but police are investigating if they planned to use the motorcycle for a bomb attack.
Police found a sticker with the word "SEJEAL" under the motorcycle's seat.
(A passage in the Koran relates a miracle when birds from heaven dropped "sejeal stones" at an army on elephants from Yemen who were attempting to kill Muhammad, scaring the animals and saving the prophet's life. Palestinian guerrillas have referred to their rockets and mortars used to attack Israel as "sejeal stones".)
Police have sought arrest warrants for four people in relations to the blasts. They are suspected to be part of a team of Iranian nationals targeting Israeli diplomats in Thailand.
Two Iranians are in custody in Bangkok. Saeid Moradi, 28, was injured in one blast and is being treated at Chulalongkorn Hospital, while Mohammad Khazaei, 42, was detained at Suvarnabhumi airport.
The third suspect is Mr Sedaghatzadeh, while the fourth suspect is female, Leila Rohani, who has fled to Iran.
Police are seeking an arrest warrant for a fifth suspect who was seen on surveillance camera footage near a house just before an explosion ripped through it on Tuesday afternoon.
