Its consultation calling for views on how to implement this proposal was published last Thursday. We will be producing guidelines on how to respond. Last month in my speech before the Church of England General Synod, I urged Archbishops Rowan Williams and John Sentamu to call an Emergency Debate on same-sex marriage. It is a shame I didn't succeed in my request, how very much such a debate is needed. Imagine what the next generation will say if this government gets its way in implementing this social engineering experiment? It is the next generation that will suffer (in fact, we'll all suffer) the dire consequences of this government's disobedience to God's blue-print for living. Won't they wonder aloud: "Why didn't you defend a biblical definition of marriage that would have helped hold our society together?" Please get behind the Coalition for Marriage campaign of which we are a founding member, more than a quarter of a million people have signed the petition opposing the proposals to redefine marriage.
