Roger Helmer in the mock parliament

Was it not Mandleson who kept talking about the post-democratic era, when he came back from Brussels, having served as a Commissar, to take a "Labour" saving post with Gordon Brown.

As for not listening or even facing the truth you may have read that Charlemagne in the 'Economist', a Eurofanatic if ever there was one, is saying that plans must be drawn up for the break up of the Eurozone and lamenting that the Eurocrats refused to even think about it, stating that it would cause, "Financial and economic chaos on an unprecedented scale.

Having described a split as causing economic Armageddon, leaders dare not to be seen planning for it."  But Charlemagne argues. with the Eurozone vulnerable to new shocks governments need to think the unthinkable.

"No self-respecting general would refuse to plan for a predictable war, no matter he dislikes the idea of fighting it."

Watch an interview with Roger Helmer, a commissioner and Dan Jorgenson of the Danish Social Democrats.

They were discussing a new people's initiative or petitions to the EU.

Roger's line was that this was mere windowdressing that will simply increase detachment since the EU is completely anti-democratic as shown by the way they ignore no votes in referendums and always make the people vote again.

Jorgenson made the supreme quote of the year by saying: "

You know Roger, you have a totally old-fashioned view of democracy."

They all seem to be sitting there with their fingers in their ears humming the Ode to Joy as loudly as they can.

Kind regards, T
