'Spain is about to enter a full-scale Crisis. A few facts about Spain: Total Spanish banking loans are equal to 170% of Spanish GDP. Troubled loans at Spanish Banks just hit an 18-year high. Spanish Banks are drawing a record €316.3 billion from the ECB (up from €169.2 billion in February).
Things have gotten so bad that Spanish citizens are pulling their money out of Spain en masse: €65 billion left the Spanish banking system in March 2011 alone.'
 


China, Russia Launch First Joint Naval Exercises in Yellow Sea

'China and Russia have launched their first joint naval drill in the Yellow Sea off China’s east coast amid heightened tensions between Beijing and its Asian neighbors over maritime disputes.
The six-day-long naval exercises kicked off on Sunday near Japanese waters and China's Qingdao city off the coast of Shandong province with the presence of more than 4,000 Chinese servicemen in the maneuvers. A total of 16 vessels and two submarines from the Chinese navy together with 13 aircraft and five shipboard helicopters as well as four warships from the Russian navy's Pacific fleet and three supply ships will take part in the drills.'
 

UK Spy’s Family Fear Cover-Up of Murder

'The naked and decomposing body of Gareth Williams, a spy for Britain’s secret eavesdropping service the Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ), was found in the bath at his flat in south London in August 2010.

Williams’ relatives have expressed their anguish over his unsolved death as the inquest into his mysterious death is to begin Monday at Westminster Coroner’s Court.

The British police have said that an investigation into Williams’ death had received a setback due to a forensic blunder. Meanwhile, Williams’ family believes that a member of “some agency specialising in the dark arts of the secret services” had a role to play in his murder.'
 

Egypt Terminates 2005 Gas Deal with Israel

'The deal was "annulled on Thursday with the East Mediterranean Gas Co (EMG), which exports gas to Israel, because the company failed to respect conditions stipulated in the contract," Mohamed Shoeib, the chairman of state-owned Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company, told AFP on Sunday.

The provision of gas to Israel has constantly formed a contentious topic among the Egyptian public, which views Tel Aviv as an enemy and opposes engaging in any form of business with it.'
