Al-Qaeda Yemen Threatens U.S. Ambassador in San'a

According to an April 4, 2012 report on the Kuwaiti daily Al-Siyassa, the Ansar Al-Shari'a organization, which belongs to Al-Qaeda in Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), has circulated a memo among its members stating that U.S. Ambassador to Yemen Gerald Feierstein and his team, as well as various U.S. interests in Yemen, are the first targets it means to hit in the coming period, as part of a new campaign called "Operation Gushing River."

On April 9, 2012, the Al-Fida' jihadi forum published a communiqué by Al-Qaeda General Command, dated March 24, 2012, regarding the British government's plans to deport prominent jihadi cleric Sheikh Abu Qatada to Jordan, threatening that the "door of evil" would be opened on the U.K. and its citizens if it dared do so.

Manchester-Bound British National Detained At Pakistani Airport With Concealed Weapons In Luggage

A British citizen of Pakistani/Kashmiri origin was detained by Pakistani security forces as he checked in his luggage containing "lethal weapons with bullets concealed in specially made vacuums," according to a Pakistani daily.

At a press conference, at which the launch of activity for solidarity with Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons was announced, Palestinian Legislative Council deputy speaker Dr. Ahmad Bahar, from Hamas, called on the Palestinian factions to set up a committee of the resistance factions to plan kidnappings of Israeli soldiers "in order to force the occupation to free the [Palestinian] prisoners."

Afghan Website: Taliban Militants From Pakistan Arriving In Northern Afghanistan

Gun-toting Taliban militants from Pakistan are arriving in several districts of Afghanistan's northern Kunduz province where the Taliban openly call the local people to join them, according to an Afghan website.
Gen. Baba Jan, Commander of the 303rd Pamir Military Corps, said that the militants in northern and northeastern Afghan provinces are using new war tactics.
