Letters from prison -  Pastor Nadarkhani and Omar Gude Perez

Two men living on opposite sides of the world are confined for the same reason.  They’ve never met, but they share a faith in Jesus Christ.  This faith has ultimately led them both to prison.

The two men, who are pastors, reflected on their experiences in  letters to their supporters.  Here are a few snippets of what they wrote:

“…in these days which are hard in order to prove your loyalty and sincerity to God, I am trying to do the best in my power to stay right with what I have learned from God’s commandments.”  Pastor Yousef Nadarkhani, who has spent nearly three years in prison in Iran

“I want to share my testimony of being a prisoner with you … the people who hear this can be edified knowing that God looks after his children during these times, even when there are attempts to murder us or any other thing that is planned against us.”  Pastor Omar Gude Perez, former prisoner but now under house-arrest for leading a fast-growing Christian network in Cuba

Every day you have an opportunity to write directly to a Christian going through trials for their faith.  It’s called Connect & Encourage, it’s free and you can use it straight away!  It’s often the most direct way you can encourage them.

And please keep praying for a swift resolution to the asylum situation for the Gude Perez family in Cuba.  The Cuban Government wants to separate the family by refusing an exit visa to Omar, the husband and father of the family.  Omar’s wife, Kenia, and their two children have been granted exit visas but naturally they don’t want to leave Omar behind.  It’s likely they won’t be let back into Cuba if they leave.  Time is running out, because the asylum offer given to the whole family is close to expiring.

Thank you for your support
