Davies, we are told, said that Johnson's success "showed that the voters still wanted traditional conservative policies".
But, of the 16.8 percent the electorate who actually voted for Boris, how many "wanted traditional conservative policies" … and how many so wanted to make sure that Ken Livingstone did not get elected that they would have voted for the devil himself to stop him?
And what about the 83.2 percent who didn't vote for Boris. What did this majority want?
