Cry havoc, and let loose the rain

Torrential downpours have brought flooding to swathes of northern England, forcing people to leave their homes as more than a month's worth of rain fell in 24 hours, says The Grauniad.

Apparently Cumbria got it worse, with "up to" four inches of rain in 24 hours, although I can vouch that here in Yorkshire we had better than 24 hours of continuous rain.

Everything is relative though. Hence, we are advised of an improvement in the offing. A band wet weather expected to sweep the country tonight, moving from West to East. Forecasts suggest it will pass relatively quickly, meaning no one place should see more than five hours of rain.

So we are only going to get five hours of rain … sheer bliss. Except that it's raining at the moment. I do hate these hot, dry summers that the warmists warned us about.
