'“The demonstrations in Spain show that a social explosion is looming because of the high unemployment rate among young people in Europe,” European Parliament President Martin Schulz told the German daily Bild in an interview published on Saturday, AFP reported.
Schulz called for rapid implementation of “new European programs to finally create more jobs for this generation.”
However, despite all the gloomy talk about southern Europe, he expressed hope that Spain would survive the crisis, thanks to its “solid industrial base” and “well-organized public administration.”'

'Unidentified gunmen attacked the energy link, which crosses the Sinai Peninsula, on Saturday night in northern Sinai at the entrance of the Mediterranean coastal town of El-Arish. According to a source, local security forces “hurried to the place to monitor the situation and firefighters were still trying to extinguish the fire.”
A group of masked gunmen in a small truck drove up to the pipeline, dug a hole, and placed explosive charges under the pipeline that they detonated from a distance, eyewitnesses said.'

'Israelis have held demonstrations in memory of the late protester, who set himself on fire during a recent social-justice protest.
In Tel Aviv, several hundreds of people gathered on the Shaul Hamelech street on Saturday night, and marched to the spot where Moshe Silman torched himself on July 14. Protesters chanted, "We're all Moshe Silman," and "desperation turns to anger."'

'Hollande has invited Labour leader Ed Miliband for a working lunch on Tuesday to discuss youth unemployment in Europe.
That makes Miliband the first British politician to be invited to Elysee Palace after Hollande took the reins as French president. Hollande’s move is believed to be a revenge from Cameron for his snubbing of the now French leader when he was on a campaigning visit to Britain earlier this year.'
