Rehn seeks to assuage US doubts
European commissioner tells US that a roadmap to a “genuine economic union” in the eurozone will be presented this year.
A “specific and time-bound road-map” toward a “genuine economic union” within the European Union will be in place by the end of this year, the European commissioner for the euro said today.
In an article for the Wall Street Journal, Olli Rehn said that the eurozone was at a “decisive juncture” and that the plan for an “Economic and Monetary Union 2.0” would ensure that “the eurozone will continue to defy its detractors”
