PARTNERSHIP AND COOPERATION AGREEMENT

between the European Union and its Member States, of the one part, and the Republic of Iraq, of the other part


CONFIRMING that the provisions of this Agreement which fall within the scope of Title V of Part Three of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, bind the United Kingdom and Ireland, as separate contracting parties, and not as part of the European Union, unless the European Union notifies Iraq that either State has become bound on these matters as part of the European Union in accordance with Protocol (No 21) on the position of the United Kingdom and Ireland in Respect of the Area of Freedom, Security and Justice annexed to the Treaty on European Union and the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union. The same applies to Denmark, in accordance with Protocol (No 22) on the position of Denmark annexed to the Treaty on European Union and the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union,EN 31.7.2012 Official Journal of the European Union L 204/21

Ah yes, here is a little of it   UK Parliament debates the Arms Trade Treaty

Foreign Office Minister for Counter Proliferation, Alistair Burt took part in a debate on the Arms Trade Treaty in the House of Commons on Thursday afternoon. Strangeme thinking we were to have a referendum before any further Treaty was signed.
