The Media Offended That Terrorists are Called Savages

Laura: The fact that it is controversial to refer to terrorists who are waging a genocidal war against the Jewish people, who slit the throats of children and babies and who blow up buses, cafes etc. as savages, shows how morally depraved is the state of the western media. The pro-jihad, Jew-hating media and the left are more offended by terrorists being called savages then they are about the butchering of Israelis by terrorists. There is nothing so depraved and monstrous its enemies can perpetrate against the Israelis that will move these degenerate leftists and media figures to ever reconsider their false narrative of “palestinian” victimization and Israeli aggression.

Atlas Shrugs:

VIDEO: Pamela Geller on ABC News covering Pro-Israel Bus ads Mark
Matthews of ABC News (KGO TV), San Francisco, did a news report on our
pro-Israel bus ads that just hit the streets. In it, Matthews proselytizes for
Islam, redefines jihad, and makes a bit of a fool of himself. He falls over
himself to get the Islamic perspective, but runs no counter to their claims. He
spent a good deal of time during our interview arguing about the word “savage.”
I explained that any war on innocent civilians was savagery. Matthews countered
that both the US and Israel have killed innocent civilians and I shot back that
the US and Israel never target innocent civilians, ever. The deaths of innocent
civilians are the tragic consequence of war sometimes. The war on Israel, OTOH,
is a war on innocent civilians. Needless to say, that never made it onto the
broadcast interview. continue reading

Healing the ultra-Orthodox work ethic

By David Weinberg, ISRAEL HAYOM

Israel’s most urgent task when it comes to its ultra-Orthodox citizens is not to enlist them to the military and propel them to the front lines to fight Hezbollah, but rather to pull them out of the unemployment benefits lines. Not to give them guns, but to help them earn their own bread honestly. Not to bus them to the Tel Hashomer IDF induction center, but to entice them to enter the high-tech industry.

Consequently, it is time to change the focus of the debate over the place of haredim in our society — drafting them is less important than drawing them into the working world.

The Israeli Crisis

By George Friedman of Stratfor

Crises are normally short, sharp and intense affairs. Israel’s predicament has developed on a different time frame, is more diffuse than most crises and has not reached a decisive and intense moment. But it is still a crisis. It is not a crisis solely about Iran, although the Israeli government focuses on that issue. Rather, it is over Israel’s strategic reality since 1978, when it signed the Camp David accords with Egypt.

Perhaps the deepest aspect of the crisis is that Israel has no internal consensus on whether it is in fact a crisis, or if so, what the crisis is about. The Israeli government speaks of an existential threat from Iranian nuclear weapons. I would argue that the existential threat is broader and deeper, part of it very new, and part of it embedded in the founding of Israel.

HAARETZ: “Netanyahu set to bury Levy report” – NOT SO

I have now had an extensive discussion with Min Daniel Heshkowitz. When I told him about the Haaretz report he said it was just wishful thinking on their part. The situation is, as I suspected it, a matter of timing only. Apparently there are a number of urgent matters, that the Ministerial Committee, of which Min Hershkowitz is a member, had to deal with involving the High Court orders or the EU.

I suggested to him that the PM and Justice Minister Ne’eman knew what the Levy Report would contain even as they were appointing the members, so that the Report came as no surprise. He said that I might well be right. He also said that the AG is refusing to endorse the Levy Report or is at least opposed to it. This creates problems for the government because the Office of the AG is independent of the Government and it would not be right or even possible to order them to support it. Furthermore it is not an easy thing to fire him. There must be cause. There is also the possibility to hire an independent counsel to represent the government on a particular matter but this is complicated because the High Court would no doubt ask what the position of the AG was. Finally, When the government goes at the end of its term, the AG also goes and another appointment will be made by the next government.

Haaretz is the only paper reporting on this. I don’t think it reliable. No named person is being quoted here. At best maybe he didn’t want it discussed now.

I have arranged to talk with MK Hershhowitz around supper time tonight and I expect to get the low down on what is happening. Ted Belman

Haaretz

Netanyahu fears that raising the issue now would generate a major international controversy.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has decided to bury the Levy Report, which recommends legalizing most unauthorized settlement outposts in the West Bank and making it easier for existing settlements to expand, a senior politician who spoke with the premier about the issue told Haaretz yesterday.

Anti-Palestinian Discrimination in Jordan

Now It’s Official

by Khaled Abu Toameh, GATESTONE INSTITUTE

But all indications are that King Abdullah still has not realized the approaching tornado. Instead of embarking on real and meaningful reforms and combating rampant rampant financial and administrative corruption, he has directed his energies against Jordanians of Palestinian origin. The king is already being threatened by the powerful and popular Muslim Brotherhood; he may soon have to face an even bigger threat.

In a daring and unprecedented move, Jordanian politicians, academics, political activists and media figures have sent a letter to King Abdullah urging him to end discrimination against Jordanians of Palestinian origin.

The letter serves as a warning to the monarch that the Palestinian majority in the kingdom would one day revolt against continued oppression and discrimination.

GOP is also reaching out to Islamists.

By Ted Belman

Too upsetting for words. Gov Christie named a the keynote speaker at the upcoming GOP convention.

Robert Spencer recently exposed Christie’s Embrace of Islamo-Fascists.

Senator McCain recently denounced Bachmann’s Muslim Brotherhood Statement.

It would appear that the GOP is continuing Obama’s outreach to the Islamists.
