Wartime tasks split: US to smash Iran’s missiles, Israel tackle Syria, Hizballah

DEBKAfile Exclusive Report August 5, 2012, 1:38 PM

An authoritative US military source told debkafile Sunday, Aug. 5 that the American armed forces are standing ready for war with Iran. Without going into the thorny question of who should lead the operation to dismantle Iran’s nuclear program, the US or Israel, it is understood that one of the US Air Force’s tasks will be to destroy Iran’s Shehab-3 ballistic missile batteries which have Israel and Saudi Arabia within range.

This task is not as formidable as Iranian spokesmen would have the world believe. Tehran’s entire stock of those missiles is no more than 30-40. That quantity is not nearly enough to take on the entire gamut of potential wartime foes, the United States Middle East bases, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan and Turkey. They would quickly be picked off by American Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense Systems and Israeli Arrow guided interceptor rockets, which are synchronized through the advanced US X-Band radar systems installed in the Israeli Negev and southeast Turkey.

Muslim Brotherhood Joins War in Syria

Israel may be faced with a choice of two evils if Assad falls: Al Qaeda or Muslim Brotherhood. Both groups have jumped into the war.

By Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu, INN

The fractious civil war in Syria has reinvigorated the country’s branch of the Muslim Brotherhood, which is supplying rebels with arms, according to the London Telegraph.

Arutz Sheva reported last week that the Muslim Brotherhood’s deputy leader vowed that Syria will become an Islamic state after the presumed fall of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

Assad’s fall may free Lebanon, too

By Amir Taheri, NY POST

With Syrian despot Bashar al-Assad on his way out, one of the world’s most dangerous terrorist organizations may also be heading for trouble — Hezbollah, in Syrian-dominated Lebanon.

The clearest sign so far that Hezbollah may be losing its grip on Lebanese politics came Wednesday, as Lebanon marked the 67th anniversary of the foundation of its national army.

In his Army Day speech, President Michel Suleiman, an ex- general, rejected all three pillars of Hezbollah’s discourse:

    * Hezbollah insists that it maintains an unofficial army to “resist Israeli aggression.”

The War against the Jews

By: Efraim Karsh, SPME

The sustained anti-Israel de-legitimization campaign is a corollary of the millenarian obsession with the Jews in the Christian and the Muslim worlds. Since Israel is the world’s only Jewish state, and since Zionism is the Jewish people’s national liberation movement, anti-Zionism—as opposed to criticism of specific Israeli policies or actions—means denial of the Jewish right to national self-determination. Such a discriminatory denial of this basic right to only one nation (and one of the few that can trace their corporate identity and territorial attachment to antiquity) while allowing it to all other groups and communities, however new and tenuous their claim to nationhood, is pure and unadulterated anti-Jewish racism, or anti-Semitism as it is commonly known.

The leftist war against Christianity

By Erik Rush, WND

In April of 1933, the Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (Nazi Party) in Germany began a nationwide boycott of Jewish businesses; this occurred shortly after Adolf Hitler became chancellor of that nation. The official program of discrimination was the first of many measures with which most Americans of my generation are familiar, and which ended with the Holocaust.

In keeping with the uncannily Orwellian tack American liberals have taken, the war on Christianity that has been in progress for decades (in earnest for the last several years) was denied with such vigor that even some conservative pundits questioned its existence. Lately, however, outrageously discriminatory, blatantly hypocritical campaigns against individuals and businesses professing Christian values have been initiated by those on the left. These have made it obvious to all but the profoundly dull that a war on Christianity is indeed in progress.

“Obama…merely a fool”

This was translated into English from an article in the Prague newspaper Prager Zeitungon.

“The danger to America is not Barack Obama, but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools, such as those who made him their president.”

Ain’t it the truth.

A New Documentary Exposes the U.N.’s DNA

By Lauri B. Regan, AMERICAN THINKER

Well not anymore. In a brief and entertaining 93 minutes, Ami Horowitz and Matt Groff, writers, producers, and directors of the documentary, U.N. Me, take the viewer on a fascinating, disturbing, and often humorous ride through the corruption, criminal activity, ineffectual bureaucracy, and profound uselessness of an institution that was initially created to fight the bad guys and address the problems related to war and peace. As Horowitz, also the star of the film, explains, “In the aftermath of World War II, the leaders of the world created the UN to ensure global security and protect human rights.”

Israel gives PA Gaza gas fields again

In May of this year, I posted BG Group to back out of Gaza gas deal

In June, Israel wins EU upgrade

In July 2012 BP wins tender to supply Israel with LNG

And now Israel has given Br Gas the go ahead. All these things are naturally related. The peace process is bullshit. The reality of relations is what goes on behind the scenes. Increasingly with Israel’s new found energy wealth, Israel will call the tune. But why would Israel re-instate this deal? Ted Belman

Ya’alon: British Gas natural gas deal in Gaza will finance terror
Former IDF Chief of Staff accuses gov’t of not ordering military action in Gaza so as not to damage BG deal.

BY Avi Bar-Eli, HAARETZ

The public disagreements between former Israel Defense Forces chief of staff Moshe Ya’alon and the politicians running the country have reached a new level, and have put the spotlight on one of the most sensitive affairs in the Israeli economy: the negotiations with BG (British Gas) over the purchase of natural gas from the undersea field off the Gaza coast.

In an article written by Ya’alon that appeared Friday on the Web site of the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs (JCPA), he accuses the Security Cabinet of not ordering military action in Gaza so that it would not damage the chances of reaching a deal with BG.
