Bibi to the UN “Shame on you.”

Three thousand years ago, King David reigned over the Jewish state in our eternal capital, Jerusalem. I say that to all those who proclaim that the Jewish state has no roots in our region and that it will soon disappear.
Throughout our history, the Jewish people have overcome all the tyrants who have sought our destruction. It’s their ideologies that have been discarded by history.
The people of Israel live on. We say in Hebrew Am Yisrael Chai, and the Jewish state will live forever.

Eurozone is breaking up

Greek riots, Spanish anti-austerity marches shatter Europe’s relative financial calm
ATHENS, Greece — Europe’s fragile financial calm was shattered Wednesday as investors worried that violent anti-austerity protests in Greece and Spain’s debt troubles showed that the continent still cannot contain its financial crisis.
Police fired tear gas Wednesday at rioters hurling gasoline bombs and chunks of marble during Greece’s largest anti-austerity demonstration in six months. The protests were part of a 24-hour general strike, the latest test for Greece’s nearly four-month-old coalition government and the new spending cuts it plans to push through.

It won’t be the end of the world if Israel strikes Iran

Whatever view we take of a nuclear-armed Iran and Israel’s right to self-defence, the alarmist argument constantly invoked – fear of a wider conflagration – simply isn’t credible
Tensions are running high after the IAEA reported that Iran’s hard-line regime, far from buckling under the pressure of sanctions, has actually stepped up its weapons-grade nuclear enrichment program.
With talks between the UN International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and Tehran producing “no concrete results” since January, and Tehran closing in on a nuclear weapons capability, reports from Israel suggest Prime Minister Netanyahu’s government has finally lost patience with the failed diplomatic process and is “determined” to strike Iran’s nuclear sites before November’s U.S. election.

Americans don’t seem to be gungho on their freedoms

By Ted Belman
The Obama administration seems to be willing to limit free speech in order to protect Muslims who might be offended by it and even to criminalize criticism of Islam or Mohammed though it says otherwise.
Obama failed to defend the movie Innocence of Muslims as an expression of free speech and failed to stand behind such a freedom as a bedrock American value.
So it was all the more surprising that he had this to say about it in his speech to the UN:
I know there are some who ask why we don’t just ban such a video. The answer is enshrined in our laws: our Constitution protects the right to practice free speech. Here in the United States, countless publications provoke offense. Like me, the majority of Americans are Christian, and yet we do not ban blasphemy against our most sacred beliefs. Moreover, as President of our country, and Commander-in-Chief of our military, I accept that people are going to call me awful things every day, and I will always defend their right to do so. Americans have fought and died around the globe to protect the right of all people to express their views – even views that we disagree with.

Freund: “Let the Palestinian Authority collapse”

With the Palestinian Authority teetering on the brink of financial ruin, an unlikely deliverer has stepped in seeking to save the day. The would-be rescuer is neither a wealthy Gulf Arab sheikh nor a playboy Saudi prince with money to burn, nor even a misguided European government looking to curry favor with the Muslim world. Believe it or not, it is Israel that is now scrambling to salvage the PA from folding.
Yes, you read that correctly. At the very same time that Mahmoud Abbas is defying Jerusalem by threatening to ask the United Nations General Assembly to upgrade the status of “Palestine,” Israel is trying to save his regime from oblivion.

Joseph Farah embraces the Day of Atonement

By Joseph Farah, WMD, September 25, 2012
They call it a Jewish holiday – Yom Kippur.
It’s the Day of Atonement, all right, but it’s not just for Jews. As Leviticus 23 makes clear, today is not a Jewish holiday, it’s one of the Feasts of the Lord, or, more precisely, one of the Feasts of Yahweh.
In other words, it’s for everyone who believes in the One True God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

The battle of the ads

The ads are already running on the sides of San Francisco buses, they began running today, September 24th, in New York City, and they were scheduled to begin appearing in the Washington, D.C. metro system. However, the DC system balked, citing the violent rioting by Muslims allegedly inflamed by a YouTube video which represents, so Geller initiated an emergency court action at the end of last week to enforce her First Amendment rights.

Ben Gurion U. Politics Dept is the most anti-Israel teaching Dept in Israel

Stephen Plaut has been railing against the Politics Department at Ben Gurion U and for good reason. Here’s his letter
to the Editor of JPOST
Shut down the disgrace
Sir, – The leftist geographer who single-handedly built the politics department at Ben- Gurion University of the Negev into the worst anti-Israel indoctrination and propaganda center in the country is simply unable to find anything wrong with it (“Prof. David Newman defends BGU’s politics department against Council on Higher Education registration ban,” September 24).
