Subject: Empty Chair Day

Not likely to see a discussion of any of these on ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, PBS, or CNN, which makes
it even sweeter.

Thousands participate in 'National Empty Chair Day' inspired by 'Eastwooding'

Clint Eastwood seems to have inspired people all around the country. Many have held the belief that the economy is not getting better, and Eastwood, speaking to an empty chair on Thursday, inspired an impromptu "National Empty Chair Day". "Labor Day has been cancelled due to a lack of jobs. Monday is now Empty Chair Day. Put an empty chair in your front yard". Many have been placing suits in the chairs, jackets, ties, blazers and are doing what has been dubbed "Eastwooding". "Not only and empty chair, but also an empty suit" they say. Thousands around the country have shared images of empty chairs in their yards on social networking sites. The Twitter hashtag #EmptyChairDay has been repeated again and again. The Democratic National Convention opens in North Carolina on Tuesday while everyone will still be seeing images of empty chairs on Facebook and Twitter.
Some people have placed signs in their chair, or next to them. These signs tend to be handmade and have quotes from Clint Eastwood during his speech at the RNC. "We own this country" has been spoken and written repeatedly during the last few days. "Politicians are employees of ours" has reminded people that the politicians, in fact, are public servants. The last phrase is one circling the internet and yard signs at an amazing rate. "When somebody does not do the job, we've got to let them go." Clint Eastwood, it seems, has inspired a nation.
