I have attempted to summarize this video, but you REALLY should watch it!
Who are the "rebels" in Syria? Why should we care?
Syria is the last remnant of Arab nationalism (sectarian/secular government - Muslim, but with western influence) now that Egypt and Libya have fallen to the Islamists.
The 'uprising' is really Arab sectarian (dictator) vs. Islamists, and is not a fight for liberty, but for power.
The "Arab Spring" is really the 'Islamist Revolution Spring'.
The majority of the Syrian "rebels", are not even Syrian - they are (mercenaries) from Bangladesh, Chechnya, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Quatar, making this "revolution" more of an "invasion".
If/when Syria is taken over by the Islamists, they will own most of the Middle East, which will be an unchallenged gateway to the Near East, and their ultimate goal of the Ummah, a worldwide Muslim community.
