In 1979 his role in a Soviet front became apparent as he set up a Conference of ‘CPC’ at Coventry Cathedral.. In 1981 he moved to Scotland as General Secretary Scottish Churches Council (SCC), where he led a campaign for the Trident nuclear submarines to be withdrawn from Scottish waters, along with support for left-wing revolutions abroad."
