Hysterical! Dream on, lady…

A junior EU bureaucrat by the name of Jayne Hall has just sent me an invitation. The first I have received from the EU in years.

I am incredulous and can do no better than quote it in full – with my reply…

09 October 2012 from Jayne.HALL@ec.europa.eu

My reply :

Not a single opposing view on offer. And on Guy Fawkes day, too!

Don’t you people know anything about anything?...including how to make a public meeting credible? Right up there with the idiocy of Commissioner Wallstrom during my term.

The EU is doomed. The boulders are already falling out of the wall. The EU’s crass managerial stupidity over the eurozone is already weakening the dam. It’s no longer ‘if’, but ‘when’…

Tell me exactly what benefit the UK has gained from 40 years’ membership of this lunatic asylum that it could not have achieved for itself…and without burdening itself with an institutionally corrupt bureaucracy, a massive, scandalous and chronic waste of British taxpayers’ money, billions loaded unnecessarily onto British business and free enterprise in compliance costs, and over 200,000 pages of regulations and new ‘law’ based on EU directives – all of which we managed perfectly well without before Heath lied and we joined what we understood to be a common market without risk to our sovereignty? To call it a profound misapprehension would be a monumental understatement.

You are probably too young to understand that we allowed ourselves to turn our backs on all our friends in the Commonwealth – and what that did to our international relationships. And you probably don’t want to know that the GDP of the British Commonwealth now exceeds that of the entire eurozone, including Germany.

Meanwhile our share of exports to the EU continues to fall. Indeed our trade with the EU has been in deficit every year since we joined, bar one. Think about it…

The EU is devious, dangerously unitarian, tolerates no dissent, attempts to discredit its critics rather than argue its corner, ignores due legal process when it suits, and is now collapsing under its own weight. You claim “unity in diversity” but practise ruthless conformity. I know. I’ve been there.

I have just finished writing my full and unexpurgated memoirs. They are being published as an ebook formatted for ereaders all over the world.

You might find it constructive – if you have the courage to read it.

A Mote in Brussels’ Eye will be published before Christmas.
