'In a Friday interview with the Washington Post, the former US official alluded to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s call for setting a “redline” for Iran's nuclear energy program, and noted, "We cannot subcontract the right to go to war. That is an American decision."

Netanyahu had told the annual session of the UN General Assembly on September 27 that the world has to set a "red line" on Iran's nuclear energy program. “Should we make a public announcement [on red lines] that can be used by Israel as a justification for its going to war? That we cannot do,” Kissinger said.'
