A High Court ruling that gives Cadbury the exclusive right to use a particular shade of purple on its Dairy Milk and other milk chocolate bar packaging will allow the company to "police" against others' use of the colour, a trade mark law specialist has said.

Irish wind developers should be compensated up to a fixed limit if output from projects is turned down by the system
Wind developers that operate turbines across the Irish Single Electricity Market (SEM) should be compensated up to a fixed limit if forced to reduce power production because they are producing more electricity than can be used, the SEM Committee has said.

FSA says EU plans to allow cash rebates do not 'conflict' with RDR rules
The UK's City regulator said that it does not expect its plans to prevent financial product providers or fund managers from paying cash rebates to investors will "conflict" with EU law, despite a European Parliament committee voting to allow the practice.

Government cancels West Coast rail franchise competition after "flaws" identified
The competition to run trains on the West Coast Main Line has been cancelled after the Government discovered "significant technical flaws" in the way the procurement process was conducted by officials, the Department for Transport (DfT) has announced.
