Islamists now control Egypt, Turkey and Tunisia and are contesting Syria. Jordan is fairly small by comparison, but it’s still part of the package as the Muslim Brotherhood would like to recreate a Greater Syria, combining Egypt and Syria, and adding Jordan to the package to crush Israel and then Lebanon, which has far too many Christians and Shiites in it for their liking.
But so far the Jordanian Arab Spring hasn’t taken off and the Muslim Brotherhood’s big show of force on Friday f
izzled with a turnout of only 7,000 when the Brotherhood was predicting 50,000.
Thousands of members of Jordan’s Muslim Brotherhood have taken to the streets to reinforce the group’s boycott of the upcoming parliamentary elections.

In biggest protest, Jordan Islamists demand change
Islamists press ahead politically in largest demonstration since Arab Spring; authorities fear Palestinian empowerment.
AMMAN – Thousands of Jordanian Islamists marched on Friday in the largest demonstration since Arab Spring-inspired protests erupted last year, calling on King Abdullah to accelerate democratic reforms.

Op-ed: Iranian proxy could once again turn Lebanon into battleground for defense of foreign interests
“Yes, Hezbollah is Iran’s army” is the bold title of one out of many opinion pieces and articles published on pro-March 14 Lebanese news portals. The growing sentiment of frustration expressed by Christian and Sunni opposition groups is gaining valuable momentum and support. Both the political branch and armed movement forming the Hezbollah terrorist organization are the de facto rulers of Lebanon since the fall of Saad Hariri’s government.
This situation is highly problematic as a militia is today the Lebanese major security actor, with enough military power to control the country in less than 48 hours.

Steven E. Rothke, Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Northwestern University, Chicago, USA, posits in his paper,
The Psychological Origin of the 1300-Year-Old Arab-Israeli War, that the Arab Israel conflict is fundamentally a religious conflict with a significant psychological component.
Many of us have long concluded the same thing. Nevertheless his paper expands our understanding and introduces the psychological component
Abstract
This psycho-historical analysis advances the hypothesis that the long-standing hostilities between Israel and her Arab neighbors is fundamentally a religious conflict with a significant psychological component. The origins of the war and standoff between the parties are traced back to the time of the founding of Islam and the encounter between Muhammad and the Jews of what is now Saudi Arabia. When the Jews rejected Muhammad as the Apostle of God, he experienced a severe psychological wound leading to a series of actions that would now be referred to as acts of narcissistic rage.

Abbas’s UN Bid Carries Implications for Peace, U.S. Military
Giving ‘Palestine’ the UN recognition it needs to revive its ICC case against Israel over the Gaza war could pave the way for similar cases against America
Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas plans to seek UN recognition as a nonmember observer state this fall. His formal request to the UN General Assembly probably won’t be submitted until after the U.S. elections. But given how many parties may need to be lobbied, Washington should start working to thwart his move soon – not only because such recognition would destroy any remaining prospects of Israeli-Palestinian peace, but also because it substantially increases the risk that American military personnel could someday be indicted in the International Criminal Court (ICC).
