Gaza’s Aqua Park has Been Destroyed

The Crazy Water Park, which was at the heart ofGaza’s vibrant tourist scene, has been destroyed by fire. Gazans used to be able to swim and relax by the pools and there were water slides for the young children. It was a happy place once but the Middle East News Watch reports:
“40 gunmen tied up and blindfolded a nightwatchman before setting fire to an administrative building and restaurant. The fire engulfed different parts of the club, including an administrative building, and then spread to the main restaurant and cafeteria, which is three storeys high.”
No, this was not the repressive IDF attacking the strip, it was Hamas militants who were outraged that the park had “hosted parties in which men and women mingled.” Nice bunch.

Hot air has always billowed out of Tim Yeo’s mouth, none more so than when he advocated bribing local communities to allow onshore wind farms near their homes. The prospect of upsetting his own constituents soon saw this ingenious idea kicked into touch though. The green guru is now fighting against green development in his own backyard.
Apparently he is “determined to help the community fight the inappropriate proposal” made by BT to build a wind farm in South Suffolk. A sudden bout of common sense? Or a lack investment in this particular green cash cow?
Public Don’t Prioritise Press Regulation

That shackling the press with statutory regulation is a priority only for the chattering classes, just like constitutional reform, is borne out by the survey released today by the Free Speech NetworkBread and butter issues dominate the public’s worries…
The Sunday Times has produced a handy graphic to highlight Common Purpose, the openly elitist group behind much of the effort to undermine the freedom of the press through the Media Standards Trust and its associated Hacked Off campaign on behalf of coke-snorting and hooker-hiring celebs who want tougher privacy laws.
