Oh the wisdom of hindsight ! It was all going so well as a trade bloc -
The Common Market - until it politicised a group of nations of differing cultures, languages, history with the eventual loss of national sovereignty in each country. Made worse by "unregulated" immigration. In theory it sounded good in the early days post WW2 - who could resist a common market to prevent more "resource wars" which were the history of Europe for hundreds of years.
Trade beats wars as a foreign policy but not the trade agreements by the now defunct WTO who are being replaced by regional trade agreements with the TPPA in the Pacific region being but one. And that is turning out to be dodgy since US decided to come aboard. "Do as we say not as we do". Fairness doesn't come into the equation with the same big bully boys calling the shots. First step - the Euro has to go, disastrous losing control of ones money supply and currency - where to from there ?
US was in favour of the formation of the EU as a bloc to counteract their paranoidal perception of Russia as the "New Enemy". Now through NATO - which should have been disbanded after the fall of the USSR - they more or less control Europe and UK pulling those countries into US wars without end based on lies and US self serving "Broad Spectrum Dominance" in ownership, control, of the worlds diminishing resources. It is the US who needs the EU, not the Europeans. That Military/Industrial Complex has a lot to answer for.
There are millions of "Joyces" in UK, and bravo if they all get out on the streets for a wake up call for the politicians !!!!
