David Ward Confronted: Did You See It? Were You There?
Sounds like David Ward got his just deserts in Parliament earlier:

Private Eye: Best Before End (of Last Week)

When Guido opened this week’s issue of Private Eye it took until the first article in the first column on the first page for him to find news totally out of date and already covered to death elsewhere. Their story that the judge who ruled in Samsung’s favour against Apple in a dispute last year is, naturally, off to work for Samsung, would have been a great exclusive had it not been reported on tech blog BGR a week ago, and theentire national press the next day.Move over to the very next column and we have “news” of Peter Rippon’s new job, seen on Guido and everywhere else two weeks ago. Go home Gnome.
Chris Huhne’s Driving Advice at Heart of LibDem Pamphlet
“Is true that Huhne has a chapter in the new Liberal Democrat ‘Green Book’” Guido asked a LibDem source in bewilderment earlier. “No, that would be madness… He has two chapters,” came the reply. And yes it’s true, Huhne has found good use of his spare time to pen two chapters for ‘New Directions for Liberals in Government’that apparently ‘brings together 27 leading Liberal Democrats and sympathetic experts to propose radical and innovative new directions for the Liberal Democrats.’One chapter is on, cough, “Driving Growth” and the another on ““reducing emissions from transport”.
Two areas he has a specialist interest in.
With a foreword from Clegg, it seems his party has learnt many lessons from their recent communication disasters.
‘Mehdi Effect’ Grows: Another HuffPoUK Editor Casualty
Another day and another editor jumps from HuffPoUKas the Mehdi Effect strikes again. After two years in the job, original hire and Culture Editor Sam Parker is off to Buzzfeed to become their new UK Features Editor. The brain drain continues:
Original reporters: gone.Pol Ed: gone.
Culture Ed: gone.
Is he worth it? Mehdi isn’t working…
Don’t Mention Mid-Staffs
MPs have been deluged with emails from the obviously completely non-partisan “progressives” 38 Degrees over the last few days, opposing Jeremy Hunt’s“privatisation plot”. Tory backbencher Andrew Jones has rooted out the logic behind the campaign:Dear colleague,As David Nicholson takes a battering at his select committee hearing this morning, it is worth noting the 38 Degrees campaign has absolutely nothing to say about the failings at Mid-Staffs…
I am sure that, like me, you have received many standard emails via the 38 Degrees website on supposed NHS privatisation.
I thought you may be interested to know that the author of the 38 Degrees independent legal advice is former Labour MP, David Lock QC, who was the MP for Wyre Forest until losing to Dr Richard Taylor, the Independent Kidderminster Hospital and Health Concern candidate. Mr Lock remains active in Labour politics as Chair of the West Midlands Labour Finance and Industry Group.

David Ward: Four Yellow Cards, No Red
David Ward’s campaign to have the whip removedis in full flow. A particularly exasperated source in LibDem HQ tells Guido that Ward is “more stupid than I had realised”, and that “if David has a problem with what was agreed, he knows how to get in touch with the Whips office. It’s clear he is saying different things in private to what he is saying in public. It’s very disappointing that he seems to be refusing to acknowledge his mistake”.A party spokesman merely says that yesterday’s comments “will form part of the ongoing process” looking at his conduct. Not like the LibDems to avoid a difficult subject…
