Thanks to the Harkins Theaters and the Sousa Mendes Foundation, here is your opportunity to see the film “Disobedience.” This is the little-known story of Portuguese diplomat Dr. Aristides de Sousa Mendes, who by signing some 30,000 visas helped many to escape the deadly grasp of the Nazi/fascist killing machine in the early part of World War II. (See attachment flyer for details).

NOTE: After the Sunday, May 19, 2 PM showing of the film, historian, author and radio personality, Dr. Steve Carol will lead a post-film discussion and answer your questions – in theater. Dr. Carol’s parents were among the fortunate to have received these visas, and he firmly believes he would not be here today, were it not for those little pieces of paper!!

So, mark your calendar and go see this film. The story is true and the names have NOT been changed – for they were the innocent!

PLEASE FORWARD THIS INFORMATION TO ALL THOSE ON YOUR GREATER PHOENX E-MAIL LIST!
Thank you!!!
