There were many cogent critiques of the Oslo process. But none addressed why Israel’s leaders, supported by the nation’s academic and cultural elites and much of the broader population, were pursuing a course that was demonstrably placing the nation, including their own families, at dire risk… given the irrationality of Israel’s course, the explanation had to lie in the realm of psychopathology. Israel’s Oslo diplomacy reflected a self-destructiveness inexplicable except in psychiatric terms – Prof. Kenneth Levin of the department of psychiatry, Harvard Medical School.
Psychosis: Fundamental derangement of the mind characterized by defective or lost contact with reality especially as evidenced by delusions – Merriam-Webster Online dictionary.
April was a bad month for level-headedness, least as far as the debate on Israel was concerned, and particularly in reference to the Palestinian issue.
Common sense and rational thinking were abandoned in favor of feverish flights of far-fetched fancy, totally divorced from recalcitrant realities down here on Planet Earth.

Here is yet another instance of the Islamic supremacist/leftist war on free speech — particularly egregious in the wake of the Boston Marathon jihad bombings. The message is all the more crucial now. For years, my colleagues and I labored under the most heinous circumstances. Anyone who opposes the jihad and the Sharia must endure a constant withering attack on one’s name, reputation, integrity, and even spirit.
I was scheduled to speak at the Chabad Flamingo Synagogue in Thornhill, right outside of Toronto’s city limits, on May 13. But now Islamic supremacist groups in Canada, with willing aid from the Canadian police, have succeeded in getting the event canceled under police pressure, and the organizers are looking for a new location.

George Orwell wrote in his seminal tome, 1984, “The object of terrorism is terrorism … Now do you begin to understand me?”
Unfortunately, we live in a world where too many still do not understand.
After the recent terrorist attacks in Boston, there was immense incredulity when the ethnic nationality of the perpetrators was made known. The act did not make sense to many, because terror has so often been explained merely as a product of national conflict, or as a logical reaction to “oppression” or “occupation.” Even al Qaeda, we are told, is merely reacting to America’s role in the Muslim world.
Neither the United States in particular, nor the West in general, has played a significant role in the decades-long war in Chechnya. The usual talking heads were left scratching their heads — even after more evidence of the bomber’s Islamist ideology came to light.

Being a Jewish-nation state must trump being a democratic state or democratic values will trump being Jewish Nation state. Being a Jewish state means giving preference to Jews and things Jewish. In a democracy this is verbotten. DON’T GUT THE BILL. By Ted Belman
ISRAEL HAYOM
Habayit Hayehudi faction chairwoman Ayelet Shaked and MK Ruth Calderon (Yesh Atid) intend to work together to formulate an updated version of the so-called nation-state bill, which aims to legislate the state’s Jewish identity.
The controversial bill, proposed by then-Homefront Defense Minister Avi Dichter in the last government but ultimately scrapped,
seeks to prevent the establishment of a binational state and to define Israel as the nation-state of the Jewish people. The original bill called for Jewish religious law to serve as inspiration for new legislation and for the dropping of Arabic as an official language, granting it only “special status.”

Tendency in the West, pointedly among liberals, to dismiss realities of Islamic world, Palestinians and direct focus solely on Israel.
There are two main reasons that many leftists who are viscerally supportive of Israel have difficulty understanding and defending the Jewish state today. First, the storyline about Israel is deeply distorted.
For instance, this week, Freedom House released its annual report on press freedom around the world. Israel’s ranking was reduced from “free” to “partly free.”
Freedom House gave three reasons for downgrading Israel’s status: the prosecution of Haaretz reporter Uri Blau for holding stolen top-secret documents; Channel 10’s difficulties getting its broadcast license renewed; and the success of the Israel Hayom newspaper. As Jonathan Tobin at Commentary noted Wednesday, all of these reasons are fraudulent.

In response to the alleged Arab League softening, Netanyahu said:
“The root of the conflict isn’t territorial. It began way before 1967. The Palestinians’ failure to accept the state of Israel as the nation-state of the Jewish people is the root of the conflict. If we reach a peace agreement, I want to know that the conflict won’t continue – that the Palestinians won’t come later with more demands.”
Thus he is embracing “land for peace”. He is saying that he would rather have an end of conflict agreement and recognition of Israel as a Jewish state than Judea and Samaria or east Jerusalem.
You will recall that when Pres Obama was here he said “The Palestinians must recognize Israel as a Jewish state. I wondered at the time why he would make such a gratuitous remark out of the blue. But now that Netanyahu has said virtually the same thing, one wonders if some kind of deal was cut.

Yair Lapid’s war on the haredim is an old war. His father, Yosef “Tommy” Lapid also tried to fan the flames, and he got burned. We believe this Lapid will also get burned. The question is how much damage will be caused to the country. Not to us haredim, but to the country.
Let me explain. Two men survived the Holocaust in the same country. One, the late Yosef Lapid, became famous and served as justice minister and chairman of Yad Vashem. The other, who was just as famous, was Rabbi Yoel Teitelbaum, the admor of Satmar. The Satmar doctrine may appear radical to many, but it has been embraced by more than 100,000 hasidim around the world, mainly in the US. You will not find one Satmar hasid who disagrees with this doctrine, and, as times goes by, the reality indicates that the rebbe’s theory may have been right.
