Egyptian Opposition Accuses US of Backing Morsi

Backing indeed.

The Obama administration supported the overthrow of Hosni Mubarak and the installation of the clerical fascist (Islamist) Morsi in the context of a pro-Islamist foreign policy that is based on an alliance with the Muslim Brotherhood.

Spreading rightwing political Islam, promoting the Islamist notion of "the Muslim world"--these are Obama's main foreign policy achievements.

In related news, the American bystander who was killed in yesterday's violence has been identified as Andrew Pochter, a 21-year-old college student from Maryland who was in Egypt for the summer to teach English and improve his Arabic. The victim was reportedly stabbed in the chest by a demonstrator.

Brzezinski's Incredibly Interesting Syria Comments

'Arc of Islam' Architect Says US, Saudis, Qatar Caused Crisis

ADVENTURES IN JIHAD: Zbigniew Brzezinski and a "stirred up Muslim" back in the day.

What is most important to the history of the world? The Taliban or the collapse of the Soviet empire? Some stirred-up Muslims or the liberation of Central Europe and the end of the Cold War.
-Zbigniew Brzezinski, Jimmy Carter's National Security Advisor, defending his covert backing for Islamist warlords in Afghanistan before the Soviet invasion of that country. Interview of Zbigniew Brzezinski Le Nouvel Observateur (France), Jan 15-21, 1998
It is not in America's interest to perpetuate American-Iranian hostility. Any eventual reconciliation should be based on the recognition of a mutual strategic interest in stabilizing what currently is a very volatile regional environment for Iran. Admittedly, any such reconciliation must be pursued by both sides and is not a favor granted by one to the other. A strong, even religiously motivated but not fanatically anti-Western Iran is in the U.S. interest, and ultimately even the Iranian political elite may recognize that reality. In the meantime, American long-range interests in Eurasia would be better served by abandoning existing U.S. objections to closer Turkish-Iranian economic cooperation...
-Zbigniew Brzezinski, The Grand Chessboard (1997)
There is widespread discontent and rioting in Iran at the time. State Department official Henry Precht will later recall that Brzezinski had the idea “that Islamic forces could be used against the Soviet Union. The theory was, there was an arc of crisis, and so an arc of Islam could be mobilized to contain the Soviets. -The Road to 9/11: Wealth, Empire, and the Future of America [Hardcover] (2007), Peter Dale Scott, Page 67.
In late 2011 there are outbreaks in Syria produced by a drought and abetted by two well-known autocracies in the Middle East: Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
-Zbigniew Brzezinski in an interview with The National Interest (June 24, 2013)

Zbigniew Brzezinski, who, as Jimmy Carter's National Security Adviser, orchestrated the ouster of the Shah of Iran in order to jump aboard the Islamist bandwagon, and the secret, pro-Islamist intervention in Afghanistan that unleashed the global jihad--which ultimately blew back in America's face most horrifically on 9/11--in order to hasten the crackup of the Soviet Union, now asserts that the United States, Saudi Arabia and Qatar orchestrated Syria's Islamist uprising.

The old Cold Warrior is right, of course. But his comments should be seen in light of his staunch support for the Iranian regime.

Obama-Backed Morsi Out to Crush Secular Opposition

Clerical Fascists Threaten Egyptians With Civil War

The Obama administration's betrayal and abandonment of Hosni Mubarak, an American ally for three decades, continues to backfire, just as the Carter administration's betrayal and abandonment of Iran's modernizing monarch, Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi, continues to backfire, as evidenced by Iran's ICBM and nuclear programs, partnership with North Korea, intervention in Syria, sponsorship of international terrorism, encroachment in Latin America, etc.

Understand, as President Obama is fond of saying, that the people who assassinated and celebrated the death of Anwar Sadat are now running Egypt and that it is U.S. policy to align with such scum. Hence, in addition to stabbing Mubarak in the back, the unnecessary U.S./NATO intervention in Libya and the arming of "rebels"--Al Qaeda-connected car bombers and cannibals--in Syria.
