Forty-one IMF Bailouts And Counting – How Long Before The Entire System Collapses?

Pastors Blame Wildfires on Christian Women Who Wear Pantsuits and Hats

'Last week on Generations Radio, Colorado pastors Kevin Swanson and Dave Buehner addressed the forest fires hitting their state. They wondered why God was punishing Colorado with the fires, and specifically targeting the heavily conservative city of Colorado Springs.
The two ultimately determined that the forest fires were linked to the state’s liberal abortion laws and the recent success of civil union legislation. Swanson added that a Denver Post photograph of State House Majority Leader Mark Ferrandino kissing his partner also played a role in inviting God’s wrath.'

Fourth Of July Sign In Public Park Sums Up The State Of 'Independence' In America

'Check out this sign. It's a set of rules put into effect by the Lakewood Ohio parks division of the municipal government for the day that local Lakewood residents celebrate America's independence.
It's located on the viral image site Imgur under the title "No Fun Here, Move Along." The comments are predictably negative.'

Every picture you take is secretly encoded with your GPS location

'If there is one thing you need to remember at all times in the Electronic Age, it is that privacy no longer exists. Every electronic device, every electronic communication, every electronic anything betrays your sense of privacy in every imaginable way, and that is also true of a seemingly innocuous item - the photo.
If taken with a smartphone - as many photos these days certainly are - then the government, as well as ordinary folk (including those who mean you harm) can use metadata embedded in that photo you just tweeted or posted on Facebook to find out your exact coordinates. That includes where you live, if that's where you sent or posted the photo from, according to a new investigative report by McClatchy Newspapers:
The GPS location information embedded in a digital photo is an example of so-called metadata, a once-obscure technical term that's become one of Washington's hottest new buzzwords.'

Despite Claims to the Contrary, Pepsi is Still Using Caramel Coloring Linked to Cancer

'The caramel coloring used in PepsiCo Inc. drinks contains high levels of a probable carcinogen, according to a new study by the watchdog group The Center for Environmental Health (CEH). Pepsi had claimed to have removed the chemical, but the CEH reports otherwise.
In order to avoid a cancer warning label in California, Pepsi and Coca-Cola Co.—which together account for almost 90 percent of the soda market according to industry tracker Beverage Digest—both reportedly adjusted their formulas across the U.S. in March in order to disclude the chemical called 4-methylimidazole or 4-Mel. The chemical was linked to cancer in mice and rats.'

Veterans on Trial for Peaceable Assembly at Vietnam Veterans Memorial

'On July 8, 2013, 17 U.S. military veterans and their allies will stand trial after being arrested as they read the names of the fallen and laid flowers in their memory at New York City’s Vietnam Veterans Memorial. The NYPD leadership had an opportunity to safeguard the First Amendment protections of those gathered to mark 11 years of war and destruction in Afghanistan. Instead, the police chose to arrest 25 vets and supporters, charging them with violating a rarely enforced 10 pm curfew at the memorial. Their trial will hinge on whether their constitutional and international human rights to speech and assembly may be superceded by municipal park regulations.'

The 'Tonkin Gulf War Pretext Incidents': When the US Wants to Start a War, it Lies …

'As the Obama administration maneouvres to get traction for more overt and deadly military intervention in Syria, it may be time to reflect on other times at which a US administration has tried to legitimise a military response. There were Colin Powell’s 2003 lies about WMD. In 1990 there were lies about babies being thrown out of incubators.
Susan Rice lied by telling the world that Libyan loyalist troops were being issued Viagra and instructed to commit mass rapes. When the US wants to start a war, it lies, and these are very big lies. What is more, even once the lies are discovered and broadcast our historical narrative is somehow contrived to seem as if there were no such lies.
With a rigidity that rivals any “totalitarian” regime you could name it becomes impossible to deviate. Just because the US put huge amounts of time and effort into deceiving everyone in order to go to war, it doesn’t mean they wanted war. On the contrary, they were victims of their own lies. In Stalin’s or Hitler’s regimes it was unthinkable to accuse the authorities of any mistakes, in our totalitarianism it is impossible to accuse the US regime of doing anything on purpose.'

Britain’s controversial involvement in Syria backfires

'Following the revelations that Britain supports armed terrorist groups in Syria, Home Office intelligence chief Charles Farr has warned that many of the same militants want to attack the UK.
With al-Qaeda-inspired militants in Syria, Farr warned that there have never been so many terror groups and extremists so close to Europe. “Groups in Syria aspire to attack Europe and have both the capability and means to do so, including returning foreign fighters coming back to Europe,” Farr told the National Security Conference in London.'

UK disabled workers face further job cuts

'More than 230 disabled workers are at risk of redundancy as British government announced plans to shut nine further Remploy factories employing disabled staff across England and Scotland.
The minister for the disabled Esther McVey, said jobs for about 70 percent of the 515 disabled employees in the remaining Remploy factories and CCTV sites could be saved after they attracted bids to take over the businesses.
According to reports, the sites to be closed are in Leven, Cowdenbeath, Stirling, Dundee, Clydebank, Norwich, Portsmouth, Burnley and Sunderland, affecting a total of 284 employees, including 234 disabled workers.'

French secret services spy on citizens, report says

'France’s secret services illegally have been spying on the citizens by monitoring their telephone and internet communications as well as internet searches, a report says.
On Thursday, French daily Le Monde reported that the country’s security services had stored the data from communications on a supercomputer at the headquarters of the Directorate-General for External Security, known by its French acronym DGSE.
The report said that the DGSE "systematically collects electromagnetic signals emitted by computers in France, as well as the data feed between France and abroad: the entirety of our communications are being spied upon."'

Poll: Germans trust in US plummets after Snowden revelations

'On Thursday, ARD public television released the results of the phone poll it had conducted with 1,005 random respondents between July 1 and 3.

The results indicated that less than half of the respondents regarded the US as a trustworthy partner. The figure was 65 percent before the disclosure of the US spying scandals.

The findings also revealed that 78 percent of the respondents expected German Chancellor Angela Merkel to act resolutely against both the United States and Britain, which is also accused of large-scale data mining.'

EU calls for scrapping deals with US over espionage leaks

'The European Parliament says it will scrap agreements with the United States granting it access to European travel and financial data unless Washington reveals the extent of its electronic spying operations in Europe.'

Israeli Premier Benjamin Netanyahu’s bureau chief resigns

'Gil Sheffer replaced Nathan Eshel, who resigned last March over charges of misconduct and damaging civil service discipline for harassing a female staffer while in office.
According to reports, Sheffer has also been investigated over allegations that he sexually assaulted a woman more than a decade ago. However, Sheffer has denied the allegations and said that his resignation is not related to the investigation.'

The bloodletting begins: Egyptian army arrest deposed president Morsi and issue warrants for three hundred of his Muslim Brotherhood men

'Deposed Egyptian president Mohamed Morsi is being held under house arrest after being toppled by the same kind of Arab Spring uprising that brought the Islamist leader to power just a year ago.
Celebrations took place across Egypt all last night after the head of Egypt's armed forces issued a declaration suspending the constitution and appointing the head of the constitutional court as interim head of state.
Gehad el-Haddad, a spokesman for the Muslim Brotherhood party, said Morsi was under house arrest at a Presidential Guard facility where he had been residing, while 12 of his aides were also being held.
Arrest warrants have also been issued for 300 members of the Muslim Brotherhood movement.'

'Broke nations are bailing out other broke nations with borrowed money. Round and round we go – where we stop nobody knows. As of April, 41 different countries had active financial “arrangements” with the IMF. Sometimes they are called “bailouts” and sometimes they are called other things, but in every single case they involve loans. And most of the time, these loans come with very stringent conditions. It is a form of “global governance” that most people don’t even know about.
For decades, the IMF has been able to use money as a way to force developing nations to do what it wants them to do. But up until fairly recently, this had mostly only been done with poor nations. But now an increasing number of wealthy nations are turning to the IMF for help. We have already seen Greece, Portugal, Ireland and Cyprus receive bailouts which were partly funded by the IMF, Spain has received a bailout for its banking sector, and as I noted yesterday, it is being projected that Italy will need a major bailout within six months. How long can this go on before the entire system collapses?'
