Is there no limit to what this Government will privatise?

Social services for vulnerable children in England to be privatised

'The government is planning to allow outsourcing firms to bid for contracts to manage social services for vulnerable children in England – while dropping laws allowing the removal of companies that fail to do the job properly.
A number of firms have expressed an interest in proposals that would allow them to bid for contracts managing foster care and providing other services for children in care.
But Labour says the plans would take away legal provisions that allow councils to remove a firm that has failed to meet national minimum standards. They would also relax the rules governing independent inspections of services that place and monitor children who are looked after by the state.'

UK’s blood supply sold to US private equity firm Bain Capital

'The Government was tonight accused of gambling with the UK’s blood supply by selling the state owned NHS plasma supplier to a US private equity firm.
The Department of Health overlooked several healthcare or pharmaceutical firms and at least one blood plasma specialist before choosing to sell an 80 per cent stake in Plasma Resources UK to Bain Capital, the company co-founded by Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, in a £230m deal. The Government will retain a 20 per stake and a share of potential future profits.'

Double your money! UK private security as terrorism vector

'The widening of the spiral of fear and increasing demand for 'protection' creates an international protection racket cartel, indistinguishable only in that they call themselves 'legal', from organized criminal gangs.
UK security firms Serco and G4S, are described as ‘indispensable’ to Britain's criminal justice system, have been overcharging the government by 'tens of millions of pounds' for criminals who had long finished their sentences or been dead for years.
How many kicks in the teeth, or near misses, can this British Government endure before it sees 21st Century 'terrorism' for what it is? An organized assault on our collective peace and safety with the purpose of spawning real terrorist cells.'

Syria: 'Britain Must Be Prepared For War'

'Britain must be prepared to go to war if it wants to end the conflict in Syria and keep chemical weapons out of the hands of al Qaeda, the outgoing head of the armed forces has warned.
General Sir David Richards, who steps down today as Chief of the Defence Staff, said that if the West wanted to see an end to President Bashar al Assad's regime it would have to step in as in it did to end the Gaddafi regime in Libya.
He also warned that if the regime suddenly collapsed then Britain "would have to act" to prevent chemical weapons falling into the hands of terror groups.'

Britain could send hundreds of troops to Syria to prevent chemical weapons threat to the West, says Defence Secretary

'Hundreds of British soldiers could be sent to Syria to prevent a chemical threat to the West, the Defence Secretary hinted.Philip Hammond refused to rule out ordering troops to the war zone to rein in President Bashar al-Assad’s regime or seize stockpiles of illegal weapons.
He said it was ‘unlikely’ but no option was ‘off the table’ – in the most serious warning yet that the UK could deploy forces to Syria.'
