Obama Demands Peaceful Surrender to Brotherhood

Barack Obama’s administration is the best American friend the global caliphate movement has ever had. Obama, a notorious backstabber of accomplices who have outlived their usefulness, is now demonstrating that he is capable of steadfast comradeship when his heart is in it, responding to the mass uprising and military coup that has toppled Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood regime by demanding that the Brotherhood be allowed to participate in whatever form of government comes next.
From Bloomberg News, we get this:
While President Barack Obama’s administration has stopped short of condemning the July 3 military takeover, it has called on Egyptian leaders to pursue “a transparent political process that is inclusive of all parties and groups,” including “avoiding any arbitrary arrests of Morsi and his supporters,” Bernadette Meehan, a spokeswoman for the National Security Council, said July 4 in a statement.

Free Syrian Army alleges an Israel Air Force strike destroyed a warehouse holding Russian anti-aircraft missiles, launchers • Syria’s al-Haqiqa website says blast at Latakia arms depot was also Israel’s doing, destroyed Yakhont anti-ship cruise missiles.
The Free Syrian Army claimed Monday that the Israel Air Force had destroyed a warehouse holding Russian S-300 anti-aircraft missiles east of the city of Homs in western Syria. The rebels’ claim has not been corroborated by any other independent source.
In a Facebook post titled “The new Israeli strike,” the rebels alleged that “the brave Syrian regime has conceded that a new Israeli strike targeted a warehouse containing Russian S-300 missiles and launchers. The facility was located in the al-Qassia camp, near the town of al-Hafa, east of Homs.”

Egypt’s army chief says no to dialogue with Brotherhood.

The holy Muslim month of Ramadan beginning in the Middle East Tuesday, July 9, heralds more, rather than less, bloodshed. After at least 51 deaths in a Cairo shootout Monday, Egypt’s military chief Gen. Abdel Fattah El-Sisi rebuffed US diplomatic efforts to bring the various political forces in the country around the table for dialogue. The high military council is divided on this: One faction urges a relentless crackdown on the Muslim Brotherhood and its deposed president; a second, led by Gen. El-Sisi, says they mustn’t be cowed by the backlash to Monday’s incident, but should keep the political process for a new and stable government on track

Army set to defend oil pipeline, Suez shipping

While events in Cairo following the Egyptian military takeover of power were the focus of media coverage, DEBKAfile’s military sources report that the army was quietly getting set to secure the country’s primary assets – Suez Canal traffic, the oil facilities in the town of Suez, and the Sumed oil pipeline – all extremely sensitive targets.
According to intelligence reaching the military, a radical Islamist force – made up of a clandestine Muslim Brotherhood raider unit called El Giza Al Sidi, Sinai Bedouin Salafists linked to al Qaeda and the Palestinian Hamas – are conspiring to activate commando and missile units for sabotaging Suez shipping and the flow of oil from the Persian Gulf to the Mediterranean. (Read more…)

Obama frowns on Egyptian army’s alignment with Gulf regimes, coming crackdown on Muslim Brotherhood

After US Secretary of State John Kerry was filmed vacationing on his yacht at the peak of the Egyptian crisis, President Barack Obama released this statement early Sunday, July 7: “The US is not aligned with and is not supporting any particular Egyptian political party or group and condemns “ongoing violence across Egypt.”  Obama made these points in a telephone conference with the National Security Council from Camp David.
To further rebut US media criticism, the administration reported that Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel had spoken three times with Egypt’s Defense Minister Abdel Fattah El-Sisi about the military coup which deposed Mohamed Morsi on July 3, to demand the expeditious reinstatement of civilian rule.

Brotherhood Incitement Increases After Deadly Clashes

Tensions in Egypt continue to escalate as Muslim Brotherhood members fight back against last week’s ouster of President Mohamed Morsi.
More than 50 people were reported killed and hundreds wounded Monday in clashes between Egyptian military and Morsi supporters. Army officials say troops opened fire only after they were attacked by protesters, but protesters claim some of the killings took place during prayer. Muslim Brotherhood officials are increasing the intensity of the rhetoric, as its political wing, the Freedom and Justice Party, called for the great Egyptian people to rise up against those who want to steal their revolution with tanks and armored vehicles, even over the dead bodies of the people.”
Speaking to a rally of Morsi supporters in Cairo’s Rabaa Al-Adawiya Mosque, Muslim Brotherhood Supreme Guide Mohamed Badie, pledged that they “will not leave the streets until president Morsi is reinstated” promising that they will “sacrifice our souls for him.” (Read more…)

Kerry plan tilts sharply toward Arabs

Palestinians often complain that the US is “biased” toward Israel. This could be because their fundamental belief is that all of the land between the Jordan and the Mediterranean belongs to them. So they see any recognition of Israel’s legitimacy as ‘biased’.
But if we stipulate that Israel is is not going away, then we can make a good argument that the US position — particularly as articulated by the Obama Administration — is strongly biased toward the Arabs.
Here’s a recent account of Secretary of State Kerry’s diplomatic effort:

Obama to Israel: Do as we say, not as we do

It is simply unthinkable that Israel should be expected to pay a price in order to get a meeting with Mahmoud Abbas.
Six weeks ago, a remarkable scene played out at the US National Defense University in Washington.
In the middle of President Barack Obama’s much-anticipated speech on US counterterrorism policy, a protester from a far-left group interrupted the commander in chief and repeatedly heckled him, calling for the immediate release of terror suspects being held at the Guantanamo Bay detention center.
Clearly perturbed, Obama attempted to silence the troublemaker while sticking to his remarks, in which he sought to emphasize that only after a case by- case review would the US release detainees who had been cleared of terrorist involvement.

The president of the International Criminal Court, Song Sang-Hyun, appointed a three-judge panel this week to consider preliminary procedural hurdles to opening a criminal investigation against Israel.
The request for the criminal probe, filed by the African country Comoros, stems from Israel’s raid on a Turkish-sponsored flotilla to Gaza in May 2010. Nine Turks were killed by Israeli soldiers after passengers attacked the boarding party with iron bars, clubs and slingshots.

Is Netanyahu Turning Left?

Pipes asks the wrong question. Netanyahu has proven himself to be a leftist. But more telling is the fact that he prefers to make a deal than hold the line. e.g. WYE, Golan, Bar Ilan speech. And he certainly isn’t prepared to make a dramatic move on the right like approving the Levy Report, or extending Israel law to J&S or annexing it. If he was looking for a legacy he doesn’t have to turn left. He likes to keep his head down in the fox hole. He doesn’t want to make a wave or start a fire. He plays it safe. Ted Belman
