Obama’s Ambassador Orders Egypt to Release All Muslim Brotherhood Members

July 12, 2013 By Daniel Greenfield, FPN

This may have been filtered through the Egyptian media for that extra nationalistic flavor, but the demands are in line with those already made by Obama and State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki.
Yesterday El Fagr reported that, during their most recent phone conversation, U.S. ambassador Anne Patterson demanded that Egyptian General Sisi release all Muslim Brotherhood members currently being held for questioning: “And when Sisi rejected this order, the American ambassador began threatening him that Egypt will turn into another Syria and live through a civil war, to which Sisi responded violently: ‘Neither you nor your country can overcome Egypt and its people.’”

Moreover, the day before the Salafi party withdrew from negotiations with the new Egyptian government, Al Nahar reported that Patterson had “incited them [the Nour Party, the Salafi party] to tamper with the political scene and the road map and to threaten to withdraw from political participation if Dr. Muhammad Baradei becomes elected as Prime Minister…”
Apparently, these are the “many forms of pressure” that Patterson earlier assured Hishan Qandil the U.S. would use to reinstate the Brotherhood.
Plan B for Brotherhood is moving forward.

The Question of Islamic Reform  Edit Link

Perhaps the major theological problem confronting the revisionist Muslim community today—i.e., those whom we call “moderates”  or “secular-oriented intellectuals”—is the canonical scriptures which define their faith and without which Islam would cease to exist. The dilemma for these “enlightened Muslims” is the Koran itself, with its ubiquitous summons to warfare, conquest, enslavement and social and economic persecution of vanquished peoples, which is why they are preoccupied, to the brink of obsession, with the twin concepts of re-interpretation and contextualization. (Read more…)

The looming battle in the Sinai

By AYA BATRAWY, TOI, July 13, 2013, 3:33 pm
CAIRO (AP) — Military attack helicopters rattle over the impoverished desert towns of northern Sinai and the sound of gunfire erupts nightly, raising fears among residents of a looming confrontation between Egypt’s military and Islamic militants who have intensified attacks since the ouster of president Mohammed Morsi.
Militant groups have grown bolder, striking security forces almost daily and also turning on local Christians. Some are now openly vowing to drive the military out of the peninsula on the borders with Israel and Gaza and establish an “Islamic emirate.” Further fueling the turmoil is the longtime resentment among many in the Bedouin population over decades of neglect and harsh security crackdowns by the state.
The military and security forces have widened their presence, and military intelligence officials told The Associated Press an offensive is being planned, but no further details were given.

AIPAC, ADL and AJC misrepresent American Jewry

This article totally undermine’s Michael Oren’s views expressed in a recent interview in which he said Obama is Israel’s friend.
The MSM participates in this misrepresentation. Ted Belman
From coast to coast, authentic, courageous American Jewish groups are forming and organizing. Their members understand that there are things that are more important than multi-million dollar budgets and invitations to White House parties
Last month, we learned that in addition to targeting groups that oppose abortion and that support limited government and lower taxes, the Obama administration’s Internal Revenue Service has also apparently been singling out non-leftist pro-Israel groups. According to numerous media investigations, beginning as early as March 2009, a consortium of powerful forces including the Palestinian Authority, the New York Times, columnists in the Washington Post, administration-allied anti-Israel groups including J Street and the Arab American anti-Discrimination Committee, and the State Department lobbied the IRS to discriminate against these pro-Israel groups.
