Sir

No doubt your motive for wanting the UK to remain in the EU is based on economics and trade.

You should understand that it is unacceptable for a foreign country to try to control or influence the sovereign decisions of an independent nation.

We British shall make that decision, in our own best interests

We fought two world wars to defend that freedom. We have no intention of discarding it now, to the Japanese or anyone else.

The EU is a profoundly corrupt, unaccountable, unitary form of bureaucratic government.

It has catastrophically damaged the UK since we joined. It has fundamentally interfered with our laws, our way of life, our culture, our freedom and our well-being as a nation.

Those sovereign issues are infinitely more important than trade, however important that may seem to some manuf acturers who have chosen to base themselves here.

They are welcome, but they cannot interfere with our sovereignty.

We are a global trading nation – not just an off-shore part of the EU. In any case, the EU needs us as a market. We have bought more from them than they from us if every year bar one since we joined. They dare not damage that trade relationship when we walk away. Little will change.

You are free to use and enjoy that situation when it arises. Meanwhile, stay away from our sovereignty.

We shall leave the EU. The only decision is “when?”

Make the best of it. And never forget your manufacturers are always free to leave.
