This week our activists showed what they can achieve yet again. In Colchester, Chris Manby organised a petition opposing new parking charges that threatened shops in the town centre. With help from local shopkeepers he beat the plans and the charges will now not be going ahead.

Our grassroots activists have also been out this week in Darlington and Birmingham continuing our Stop the Energy Swindle campaign. And we have been hard at work organising new branches in Surrey and Northern Ireland as well. If you want to become a part of the best grassroots team in British politics, let me know.

Nearly half a billion wasted on fire control centres

Despite being scrapped in 2010, the FiReControl project to establish nine regional fire control centres continues to be a millstone around taxpayers’ necks.

New Stop the Energy Swindle events

Our activists were out in force raising awareness about the high cost of energy taxes in Birmingham and Darlington. If you want to help, please write to your MP atEnergySwindle.org.
