Canary Wharf becomes Europe's largest financial centre

(AGI) Rome, Aug 18 - The number of white collar workers in London's new financial district, Canary Wharf, has quadrupled in the past 10 years from 27,000 in 2001 to 100,000 in 2012, the Financial Times reports. Citing figures from the Office for National Statistics, the FT reports that in 2012 Canary Wharf officially overtook the City, London's traditional financial district, in terms of numbers and has become the largest financial centre in Europe.
