By pure chance this morning, I heard a short 8 min interview on BBC Coventry & Wark. radio, where Shane O'Connor spoke to Kelly, a lady psychiatrist and also a retired police officer.
They talk openly about the fact that police moral is currently very low, with "50% of the officers wishing to leave the service"!
(That is totally shocking news!)
They confirm my own recent comments about shift patterns being almost unworkable, being asked to do more, through lack of staff and financial cut backs, sickness, accident leave and stress leave all contributing -
even down to lack of vehicles to attend a crime scene or accident!
Set your sound to 50% and listen carefully to what they say!
