'Official figures have revealed that the British government cuts National Health Service (NHS) spending by £800m in its first year despite premier's pledge to protect the NHS from budget cuts.
On Sunday, the Independent reported that the House of Commons Library, an independent body of political parties, has responded to shadow Health Secretary Andy Burnham's request to analyze the data revealed by the Treasury. “NHS total expenditure [fell] from £102.8bn in 2009-10 to £102.0bn in 2010-11 (in 2010-11 prices, rounded to nearest £0.1bn) - a real terms fall of 0.7 per cent,” revealed the House of Commons Library.
The revelations proved that British Prime Minister David Cameron's pledge to “increase health spending every year” was just an empty campaign slogan.'
