"As always, neither extreme of the argument is right. Both would have the UK give up our place at the European top table, sacrificing the influence essential to our prosperity. It is only by having a loud voice in a united Europe that we can promote the open economy that will deliver growth. Being shoved to the margins, or retreating there voluntarily, would be economic suicide: a sure-fire way to hurt British businesses and lose jobs." The EU has had over fifty years to deliver growth, in reality it has eroded the wealth of Europe by asset stripping the member states and squandering the money on idealism, all show and no substance. Having crippled the golden gooses egg production the EU now pleads poverty, perhaps the EU zealots should have paid more attention the first year the accountants refused to pass the accounts. The EU is a busted flush without the wherewithal for economic recovery but as ever it looks to us to save its bacon and fund its gilded self delusion. Enough is enough, it is time for out and that means right out, entirely and completely out. There is a huge global market outside the EU and we have the skills to tap into it once we get rid of the deadwood political class that is presently chasing its own tail in utter confusion in our Parliament. COMMENT:- When I was a boy people who were a sandwich short of a picnic, and every community had one, were referred to as 'nutters'. Today we are not quite so cruel and intolerant so the term has all but disappeared. However, there are some people who could not really be labelled any other way.
