Tony Blair secured a deal to represent Kazakhstan after meeting billionaire Labour donor Lakshmi Mittal in the corruption-plagued country, The Mail on Sunday can reveal. The Deputy Prime Minister increased tensions within the Government over EU policy by writing a provocative newspaper article which described the aims of Tory Eurosceptics as ‘economic suicide’ and ruling out a ‘head-first’ harge towards greater political independence for the UK. The Germans are celebrating the discovery of a £48 billion ‘bonus’ lurking undetected in one of its bailed-out banks. The 58-year-old former Business Secretary bought the property in Regent’s Park, North London, for £2.4 million in 2006, before selling it for £3m at the end of last month. Andrew Rosenfeld, one of Britain’s richest men with a fortune of more than £100 million, has become Mr Miliband’s biggest private backer after donating £1 million to the party.
