We started the week as offensively as we wished to go on, with Monday's cartoon causing some choking on cornflakes. Lobbying reared its dodgy head again this week with Chris Huhne's lover trying to get jobs based on her relationship with him. The news emerged that the number of taxpayer-funded trade union officials, lobbying for their vested interests, on our tab has increased. And finally Guido's favourite story of the week had to be the re-emergence of our old friend, one Trey Barnes, a dodgy yank lobbyist who was using Tory branding without permission to open doors to a murky world. Last weeks' big Cash For Votes revelations ended up in the Sunday papers and four letters landed on the desk of the Parliamentary Standards Commissioner about it. It looks like Andy Burnham could be in a real sticky spot given the timings of an amendment he put down and a donation he received and did not properly declare. The story was even mentioned by the Prime Minister at PMQs. Just another happy reader...

In the Lobby it was all musical chairs this week with the announcement that Allegra Stratton was moving from the Guardian to Newsnight, Andy Porter finally got the hint quitting the Telegraph, and the Sunday Times' Simon McGee jumped ship to spin for the Department of Transport. Ed's attempt to steal a Guardian hack was rebuffed whilst the Mail's Tim Shipman was elected Chairman of the Parliamentary Press Gallery and Guido hinted at the mysterious movements of political editors.

Elsewhere the Tories got off to a rocky start in the by-election and CCHQ are in a bit of a pickle with one of their MPs. Oh, and how could Guido forget, Piers Morgan is going to be hauled in front of the Leveson Show Trials and will be on oath. Glorious...
