This week the TPA launched a major campaign calling for lower Fuel Duty. It was great to secure the backing of the Sun (and the Page 3 girls) for this campaign. With stands showing the facts about fuel tax going out to 5,000 forecourts, huge media coverage and thousands of supporters writing to their MPs, we are really putting the pressure on the politicians to at least freeze, and over time cut, the tax. - Matthew Sinclair, Chief Executive
Some people asked us how the Government could afford to freeze Fuel Duty, but more incredible examples of your money being wasted this week suggest there is plenty of fat to cut.

Fuel tax stands have been sent to forecourts as part of a new TPA campaign exposing high taxes on petrol and diesel, working with the Petrol Retailers' Association and The Sun. They show that if you spend £30 on petrol, just £12 is the cost of the fuel, £18 is tax.
As well as letting people know how much they are paying, we need to put pressure on politicians directly. That is why we created FreezeFuelTax.com. Please click the link, write to your MP and then pass the link on to your friends and family so they can do the same.
This week a feature in the magazine PR Week looked at the top 25 PR companies working for the public sector. Those firms are raking in millions of pounds of taxpayers' moneydespite Ministers calling such spending "indefensible" just last year.
