I was under the impression that the UK was now in the grip of European style Muslim-hating.

I have found an article that provides a lengthy account of the hatemongers entrenched in Birmingham's Green Lane 'mosque' and the Saudi money behind them.

Do you know who the Wahhabis are? Given that so many of Islam's holy shrines are in present day Saudi Arabia and that the Saudis make a big show of professing Muslim faith, it is understandable that non-Muslims should assume that they an idealised and pure form of Islam, as they claim. In fact, they follow the teachings of a heretic. Outside Saudi Arabia, they go by the name Salafists. 

Do not be insulted if the Wahabis or their Salafist cousins call you infidel every time they open their foul mouths. In their eyes, we are all infidel. Did you celebrate the birthday of our Holy Prophet? Kaffir! Did you say that the Ottoman Empire was the greatest achievement of the human race? Kaffir! Did you say a prayer beside you mum's grave? Kaffir! If they claimed to be your coreligionists, then you might have good reason to be insulted! 

Mainstream Muslims do not agree with Wahhabis. 
The Wahhabis are the heretics who changed the word "O Mohammed" on our Prophet's tomb to "O Majid" (God) by adding dots because in their creed to say "O Mohammed!" is idolatry. 
They want the Prophet's tomb razed and burned down. Look at what they have done to Medina's graveyard after the Ottoman Empire was forced to evacuate the city. 
They turned it into a parking lot.

We have waged war on this deviant sect throughout Ottoman rule. The Wahhabis had their first break during the Napoleonic wars when the Ottoman Empire had its hands full of crisis in Europe and Egypt. 
They had their second break during WW-1 when the British supplied them with arms and gold and taught them how to blow up the trains supplying the Turkish army engaged in Holy War in the desert. This is something that our British friends should keep in mind. Without help from Britain, the Wahhabis would never have established themselves in Saudi Arabia and they would not be proselytising a deviant interpretation of Islam with their petro-dollars today. By the time the Turkish army became aware of the alliance between the British and the Wahhabis, Mecca and Taif had already been overrun by the enemy. 
Fahreddin Pasha established himself in Holy Medina and defended the Prophet's tomb for as long as he was able to. He even disobeyed orders to leave Medina after his position had become militarily untenable. Nobody punished him for it. He defied the terms of the armistice for 72 days. At the end, Turkey had to ask the British to defend Prophet's tomb against vandalisation. Imagine how humiliating it must have been for the Ottoman Emperor, the Caliph of God's Messenger, to make such a request. The precious gifts that were sent from Constantinople to our Prophet in Medinah by many generations of Ottoman emperors had been transported by rail back to the City a year earlier because it was known that the Wahabis were not above looting the Prophet's tomb. These items can be seen in Topkapi Museum today. As far as the Wahhabis are concerned, our Prophet is dead and does not benefit from our gifts and prayers any more. 

A lot of you will think I am lying to you to keep my own country out of the disgraceful situation that has come about, or that I do not know Islam as much as the Saudis do, or that I am westernised, secularised or otherwise enstranged to my own religion. If you have any doubts then investigate the facts for yourself. The Green Lane 'mosque' in Birmingham is closer to you than it is to me, as I must get a visa just to travel there. You are curious and clever enough to have acquired the skills to correct my interpretation of a Koranic verse, as you did last month. Note that it isn't only the Turks who despise the Wahabi. EVERYBODY despises them. And they call EVERYBODY infidel. Aside from the desecration of tombs, that is their trademark. The only man who doesn't agree with their creed and they didn't dare to call infidel so far is none other than our Prophet Mohammed. And yet they have problems with him too. Please listen to what this Arab preacher (not Turkish!) has to say about the Wahhabi. He is explaining why it is proper to celebrate Mohammed's birth (Mawlid) in spite of Wahhabi attacks on this time-honoured, global custom. He gets angrier and angrier as he speaks. At the end, he tells us what the Wahhabis think of Turkey and the Prophet's mother.
