WITH THE SPEAKERS
SIR ANDREW GREEN, KCMG
Sir Andrew Green was a professional diplomat for 35 years. He is the Chairman of MigrationWatch UK. Asked how he came to be involved in migration issues, Sir Andrews said that he first became aware of the problem when he was the Foreign Secretary’s principal adviser on the Middle East in the mid-90s. At that time he spent two years trying, on the Prime Minister instructions, to remove from Britain Islamic extremists who were claiming asylum but was frustrated by the British courts.

MigrationWatch UK was founded in 2001 by Sir Andrew after he decided that immigration was a matter which should be brought to the attention of the public. MigrationWatch UK is an independent organisation; who believe that the public are entitled to know the facts about the numbers coming into Britain.

PHILIP HOLLOBONE, MP
Philip Hollobone is the Conservative Member of Parliament for Kettering. He is also a member of the All-Party Better Off Out Parliamentary Group. Prior to entering Parliament Philip spent most of his career as an industry research analyst examining the performance of water, gas and electricity companies across the UK. He also served over eight years in the Territorial Army, including time as a paratrooper. In 1984, Philip Hollobone spent eight months working as a volunteer teaching assistant with a Baptist Mission in Honduras, Central America.

GERARD BATTEN, MEP
Gerard Batten, a UKIP Member of the European Parliament representing London, is an expert on the costs of EU membership, the case for withdrawal and the EU’s impact on immigration. He is also a vociferous campaigner against the European Arrest Warrant and the creation of a European system of criminal law.

In his first term he was a member of the European Parliaments Security & Defence Committee, and from 2009 has been a member of the Civil Liberties Justice & Home Affairs Committee. Since 2009 he has served as the UKIP MEP’s Chief Whip.
