Following are excerpts from an interview with leading Sunni Islamic scholar Sheik Yousuf Al-Qaradhawi, which aired on the Al-Jazeera network on April 7, 2013:
418.jpg
Yousuf Al-Qaradhawi: The Jihad in Syria is now a personal duty incumbent upon all Muslims. This Jihad is no longer a collective duty. There is a type of Jihad that constitutes a collective duty, which, if waged by some, is not incumbent upon the others.

Egyptian Cleric Abu Islam: Egypt's Authority Should Be Divided Among Islamist Groups; Flag Of Islam Will Soon Fly Over White House

Following are excerpts from an interview with Egyptian cleric Abu Islam, which aired on Al-Kahera Wal-Nas TV on March 18, 2013:
4181.jpg
Abu Islam: We have four large Islamic groups: The Muslim Brotherhood, the Salafis, the Egyptian Islamic Jihad, and Al-Gama’a Islamiyya. These are the four significant powers.
Is there anyone more qualified to lead the country than the Muslim Brotherhood? Then let the Muslim Brotherhood assume this responsibility.
Who should be in charge of religious affairs in Egypt? The Salafis. Is any group more qualified than the Salafis to regulate ideology? I choose the Salafis to run Al-Azhar and the Ministry of Religious Endowments.

Former Leader In Egyptian Islamic Jihad Nabil Naeem: Al-Qaeda Died With Bin Laden; Ayman Al-Zawahiri Is All Talk And His Brother Is Clueless

Following are excerpts from an interview with former Egyptian Islamic Jihad leader Nabil Naeem, which aired on Sada Al-Balad TV on March 29, 2013:
4182.jpg
Nabil Naeem: All the people who claim to be connected to Al-Qaeda – it's nothing but a media show. They say they belong to Al-Qaeda in order to scare people, because Al-Qaeda is associated with 9/11. The truth is that they never belonged to Al-Qaeda or know anything about it. Al-Qaeda came to an end with the death of Osama Bin Laden.
Interviewer: Really?
Nabil Naeem: Yes, Ayman [Al-Zawahiri] cannot do a thing. He is all talk. All he does is to send out recorded messages.
Interviewer: What makes you believe there is less chance of attacks under Al-Zawahiri?
Nabil Naeem: I know Ayman personally. He does not have the charisma or the determination. He is swayed by other people's opinions. Five or six people around him tell him what to do. He's no Osama. There is a huge difference between them. So what makes people say that they belong to Al-Qaeda? The current regime wants to blow this up out of proportion, in order to be able to claim that the alternative is worse. The alternative is Al-Qaeda.

Egyptian Businessman Naguib Sawiris Sheds A Tear About Having Had To Leave Egypt

Following are excerpts from an interview with Egyptian businessman Naguib Sawiris, which aired on Dream 2 TV on March 5, 2013:
4183.jpg
Naguib Sawiris: The [Muslim Brotherhood] rejects the democratic process. They insist on taking over. They placed 14,000 loyalists in key positions, and divide the people into "us" and "them." This is unacceptable. We are all Egyptians with green passports. This has never been done except in the days Mussolini's Fascist rule. Placing people in positions...
Interviewer: What is happening now resembles what was done by Mussolini or Hitler?
Naguib Sawiris: Of course. What gives them the right to "Brotherhoodize" this country?

Lebanese Druze Leader Walid Jumblatt: It Is Permissible To Kill Anybody Who Is With The Syrian Regime

Following are excerpts from an interview with Lebanese Druze leader Walid Jumblatt, which aired on LBC/LDC TV on April 4, 2013:
4184.jpg
Walid Jumblatt: I salute the courage of Sheik Moaz Al-Khatib [president of the Syrian opposition coalition]. I criticize his critics. I hold him in esteem. I reject the Western logic of refusing to arm the resistance in Syria because of [Al-Qaeda's] Nusra Front. I categorically reject this logic.

Syrian Oppositionist Douses Adversary With Water During Live TV Debate

Following are excerpts from a debate on the Syrian civil war, which was aired on the Al-Jazeera network on April 15, 2013:
4185.jpg
Abd Al-Jalil Al-Said, former media director for the Syrian Fatwa Council: I met with U.S. Senator Robert Casey a few days ago. He was on a visit to Turkey, and he asked to meet me and another Syrian activist. He explicitly told me that the reports they had received, according to which the members of the Nusra Front were not Syrians, have misled the U.S. administration.
Moderator: An American said that?
Abd Al-Jalil Al-Said: This was Senator Robert Casey.
Moderator: I’m warning you, you’re going on record.
Abd Al-Jalil Al-Said: I’m saying it to the media. Moreover, the American decision-makers themselves said – and this has been admitted by the U.S. ambassador and recorded in the media – that some U.S.-allied countries, whose information came from the Syrian intelligence, misled them with regard to the Nusra Front, and that in fact, most members of the Nusra Front are indeed Syrians, and do not believe in the Al-Qaeda ideology. They are fighters. This is clear. The Americans have admitted this themselves.
