It strikes me as ‘poetic justice’, which would be amusing if it were not so damaging to every member state, that the EU, which has parked about 6,000 ‘bums on seats’ and told them to produce laws, intended to ‘harmonise’ many vastly differing cultures and countries, now finds that the resulting imbroglio has produced not what was intended bur a dogs breakfast of regurgitated, toxic nonsense, wholly understood by no-one, the ‘Directives’ of which tie industry in knots, which and to which result they, with admirable surprise, quote below; -
“Soaring unemployment is a tragedy for Europe ”!!
We are being led by the nose, having given up on any hope of finding intelligence within, by a bunch of raving incompetents.  We really deserve out fate.

Barroso refuses to rule out third term bid

Commission President José Manuel Barroso will decide next year whether to run for a record third term as head of the EU executive, according to reported comments yesterday (4 April) in Vienna, where he is on an official visit.
The securities industry is facing many challenges, both from a regulatory and industry perspective. These challenges will have a profound impact on the trade and post-trade organisation and activities, in particular in Europe . The conference aims at making banks and their clients aware of these fundamental changes by discussing their operational, legal and commercial impact - including risk, collateral and liquidity management - and by addressing the future of the securities
