The first gas has started flowing from Israel's supergiant Tamar gasfield in the Levant Basin. Where it will go will redraw the Mediterranean energy map and the geopolitics that goes along with it.
The Tamar field stakeholders announced on 30 March that the gas had started flowing, raising the value of Texas-based Noble Energy Inc. (NYSE: NBL), which holds a 36% stake, and Israel's two Delek Group subsidiaries, which each hold a 15.6% stake.
For now, the gas is being pumped to mainland Israel, where it will feed the domestic market, but exports should begin in 2-3 years. What Israel has in mind is the European market, via a hoped-for undersea Mediterranean pipeline to Turkey, which has the infrastructure to get it to Europe.

The paper's notion of fair and accurate reporting and analysis is to ignore Iran's nuclear/missile project partnership with North Korea--Iranians have attended and probably helped to pay for every North Korean nuclear and major missile test--and to play up the views of appeasement and engagement (collaboration) advocates.

As Foreign Confidential has repeatedly reported, North Korea and Iran believe from their study of history and discussions with their ally, Cuba, that but for nuclear weapons--meaning, more specifically, the willingness of the Soviet Union, a supposed "rational actor," to install nuclear missiles in Cuba in order to threaten the United States with nuclear war and the world with nuclear annihilation--Washington would have long ago ousted the Castro regime. Neither North Korea nor Iran have any intention of ever stopping their atomic--and missile--advances. Nor will they surrender their chemical and biological weapons (the latter produced in cooperation with Cuba).
