EU telco network sharing plans must be extended to all multi-site telecoms infrastructure companies, says expert
The European Commission wants telecoms firms to be forced to allow rivals to offer high speed services over their networks as long as requests are "reasonable". But one expert said that the rules will not work in the UK unless extended to all providers of shared mast sites.

Taxes on company-owned high value homes and new statutory residence test come into force this week
A new annual tax on residential properties valued at more than £2 million held by companies or other 'non-natural persons' came into force on 1 April and from 6 April whether or not an individual is resident in the UK for tax purposes will be determined by a new statutory test.

SSE fined £10.5m by Ofgem after misleading consumers about potential energy contract savings
Energy regulator Ofgem has issued its biggest ever fine to an energy supplier after determining that SSE had been guilty of mis-selling energy contracts to consumers.

Reforms to rules on the registration of areas of land as town or village greens (TVGs) should contain a "character test" in order to prevent "unconventional" areas of land being designated as TVGs, an expert has said.

Ruling on unintentional sewage leaks liability should lead firms to review prevention efforts, says expert
Companies responsible for the operation of the sewer networks in England and Wales can be found criminally liable for unlicensed depositing of controlled waste even where that deposit of waste is unintentional, the High Court has ruled.
