Pressure Cooker Device Weapon of Choice by Islamist Terrorists 


The pressure cooker model has been used around the world, especially, in countries plagued by Islamist terrorism; and the instructions are available on Al Qaeda and other Islamist websites.

But isolated maniacs with Internet access could build the bombs, using pressure cookers, nails and ball bearings, for about $100 apiece.

More than 30 hours after the attack, there are plenty of questions, few answers. Who attacked the Boston Marathon? Foreign terrorists? Foreign-directed domestic terrorists? Foreign-influenced or -sympathizing/inspired domestic terrorists? Home-grown jihadists/Islamists? Nazis? A lone lunatic?

So far, the bomb fragments appear to be the best clues.

The blasts, which killed an 8-year-old boy and two other people, marked a grotesque end to what should have been a celebration of triumph. 
One man's legs were instantly blown off, yet he kept trying to stand up. Exhausted marathoners had to muscle the energy to flee the bloody scene. And some 176 people sought treatment at area hospitals, some of them gravely wounded, Police Commissioner Ed Davis said.
