Saving the System

Opinion OUR DEMOCRACY is invaluable to us all,
or at least it should be.
Yet those at the top of our political system
seemingly view it with arrogance and contempt.
Recent events have shown all too clearly
why vast numbers of people refuse
to participate in politics -
because many of our decision-makers care not one bit about the preservation and improvement of our democracy.
They are far more interested in political gain and self-interest.
