US Consul General’s Comments Cause Uproar In Israel

Diplomatic officials in Jerusalem negated a statement made by the capital's US Consul General Jake Walles asserting that Israel had agreed to cede control over east Jerusalem to the Palestinian Authority as part of the current peace talks. The sources expressed their astonishment at Walles' public discussion of the negotiations, as the three sides involved have agreed to refrain from making the matter public. Diplomatic turmoil ensued after Walles said that the basis for the current negotiations with the Palestinians would have to be a withdrawal to the 1967 ceasefire lines, including east Jerusalem. 09/12/08

Terrorism - Austrian Court Unfreezes 10 Million Dollars Of Palestinian Terrorist Funds
Tens of millions of dollars in a bank account of the Palestinian Abu Nidal terrorist group. have been unfrozen in Austria causing an uproar from Austria's justice ministry, security services and Jewish community. The funds belonged to the infamous Palestinian terrorist leader Abu Nidal, who reportedly committed suicide in 2001 in Iraq. 09/12/08
 
Society - Police Find Suitcase Containing Remains Of 4 Year Old Rose Pizem
Police divers on Thursday found a red suitcase in the Yarkon River believed to contain the remains of 4-year-old Rose Pizem, who has been missing since May. At noon Thursday, divers reported locating a suitcase that matched the description of the one into which Pizem's grandfather, Ronny Ron, said he had stuffed her body before throwing it into the Yarkon River.09/11/08

Defense - Defense Minister Barak To Dispatch Security Personnel To Protect Israelis Abroad
Defense Minster Ehud Barak said on the Wednesday that Israel is considering sending security operatives to countries in which the terrorist organization Hizbullah is believed to be planning to attack or kidnap Israeli citizens. Mossad and Shin Bet agents are to be dispatched to countries all over Latin America, Africa and Southeast Asia in order to secure tourist centers which will be packed with Israelis in the upcoming holiday season. 09/11/08
 
Defense - Pilot, Navigator Killed In Air Force Helicopter Crash In North
An airforce helicopter crashed in the field of Kibbutz Ginegar in the Jezreel Valley in the North early Wednesday evening instantly killing the pilot and navigator while on a routine training flight. Pilot identified as Major Shai Danor, a 35-year-old reservist from Rosh Ha'ayin. Danor is survived by a wife and five young children, the oldest of whom is eight, the youngest are 18-month-old twins. 09/10/08

This past Saturday three French Jews, Dan Nevet, Kevin Bitan and David Boaziz, were hospitalized after 12 Muslim African youths assaulted them on the streets of Paris. Infolive.tv spoke a leader of the French Jewish community, the father of one of the assaulted youths and an official from the French Embassy in Israel in order to get to the bottom of this new outbreak of anti-Semitism spreading through France. 09/10/09
 
International - Iran & Syria Purchase Advanced S-300 Missile Defense Systems
A Croatian website has reported that Zagreb recently sold S-300 missile systems to Iran. Croatia is known to have purchased the advanced anti aircraft defense systems following the collapse of the Soviet Union. The web magazine Necensurirano also reported that Libyan warships were docked at the Croatian port of Kraljevica where the missile systems were being loaded in preparation for transfer to Iran. 09/10/08
