German Diplomat Attended Anti-Israel Parade
Amid reports of German neo-Nazis forging close ties to Muslim extremists, a spokeswoman for the German Foreign Ministry's Iran section says German Ambassador to Iran Herbert Honsowitz violated EU guidelines by allowing a military attaché to attend an anti-Israel military parade in Tehran late last month.
"Israel must be wiped off the map" was one of the slogans painted on Shihab-3 missiles featured at the event, which commemorated the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq War.
The presence of a German defense attaché at the military parade is clearly a source of enormous embarrassment for the ministry in Berlin.
In uncharacteristically strong language and disciplinary action, Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier ordered Honsowitz to return to Berlin on September 29.Tuesday, October 14, 2008
Obama Funded Anti-American, Afrocentric Education
Not only did Barack Obama savor Wright’s sermons, Obama gave legitimacy — and a whole lot of money — to education programs built around the same extremist anti-American ideology preached by Reverend Wright. And guess what? Bill Ayers is still palling around with the same bitterly anti-American Afrocentric ideologues that he and Obama were promoting a decade ago. All this is revealed by a bit of digging, combined with a careful study of documents from the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, the education foundation Obama and Ayers jointly led in the late 1990s.
John McCain, take note. Obama’s tie to Wright is no longer a purely personal question (if it ever was one) about one man’s choice of his pastor. The fact that Obama funded extremist Afrocentrists who shared Wright’s anti-Americanism means that this is now a matter of public policy, and therefore an entirely legitimate issue in this campaign.

Jackson: Obama Will End 'Zionist Control' of US
Foreign Confidential....
WARNING: Amir Taheri's newest piece in the New York Post may be bad for your health if you're old enough to remember when the Democratic Party was the party of the late, Israel-supporting, US Senator Henry Jackson instead of the party of the rabidly anti-Israel, racial activist Jesse Jackson. Taheri, a European-based Iranian-born journalist who writes about Islamist terrorism and Middle Eastern politics, scored an exclusive--chilling--interview with Jackson about the man he is supporting for President, the DemocraticCandidate of Change, Barack Hussein Obama.
As if to confirm our worst fears and suspicions, Jackson predicts that Obama will cater to the Muslim world and end "Zionist control" of American foreign policy. An excerpt follows:The most important change would occur in the Middle East, where "decades of putting Israel's interests first" would end.
Jackson believes that, although "Zionists who have controlled American policy for decades" remain strong, they'll lose a great deal of their clout when Barack Obama enters the White House.
"Obama is about change," Jackson told me in a wide-ranging conversation. "And the change that Obama promises is not limited to what we do in America itself. It is a change of the way America looks at the world and its place in it."
On Iran, he strongly supports Obama's idea of opening a direct dialogue with the leadership in Tehran. "We've got to talk to tell them what we want and hear what they want," Jackson says. "Nothing is gained by not talking to others."
Would that mean ignoring the four UN Security Council resolutions that demand an end to Iran's uranium-enrichment program? Jackson says direct talks wouldn't start without preparations.
"Barack wants an aggressive and dynamic diplomacy," he says. "He also wants adequate preparatory work. We must enter the talks after the ground has been prepared," he says.
Jackson is especially critical of President Bush's approach to the Israel-Palestine conflict.
"Bush was so afraid of a snafu and of upsetting Israel that he gave the whole thing a miss," Jackson says. "Barack will change that," because, as long as the Palestinians haven't seen justice, the Middle East will "remain a source of danger to us all."
"Barack is determined to repair our relations with the world of Islam and Muslims," Jackson says. "Thanks to his background and ecumenical approach, he knows how Muslims feel while remaining committed to his own faith."

When commentators invoke 1929, I am dubious. According to most historians and economists, that depression had more to do with overlarge factory inventories, a stock-market crash, and Germany's inability to pay back war debts, which then led to continuing strain on British gold reserves. None of those factors is really an issue now. Contemporary industries have very sensitive controls for trimming production as consumption declines; our current stock-market dip followed bank problems that emerged more than a year ago; and there are no serious international problems with gold reserves, simply because banks no longer peg their lending to them.
In fact, the current economic woes look a lot like what my 96-year-old grandmother still calls "the real Great Depression." She pinched pennies in the 1930s, but she says that times were not nearly so bad as the depression her grandparents went through. That crash came in 1873 and lasted more than four years. It looks much more like our current crisis.
The problems had emerged around 1870, starting in Europe. In the Austro-Hungarian Empire, formed in 1867, in the states unified by Prussia into the German empire, and in France, the emperors supported a flowering of new lending institutions that issued mortgages for municipal and residential construction, especially in the capitals of Vienna, Berlin, and Paris. Mortgages were easier to obtain than before, and a building boom commenced. Land values seemed to climb and climb; borrowers ravenously assumed more and more credit, using unbuilt or half-built houses as collateral. The most marvelous spots for sightseers in the three cities today are the magisterial buildings erected in the so-called founder period.
But the economic fundamentals were shaky. Wheat exporters from Russia and Central Europe faced a new international competitor who drastically undersold them. The 19th-century version of containers manufactured in China and bound for Wal-Mart consisted of produce from farmers in the American Midwest. They used grain elevators, conveyer belts, and massive steam ships to export trainloads of wheat to abroad. Britain, the biggest importer of wheat, shifted to the cheap stuff quite suddenly around 1871. By 1872 kerosene and manufactured food were rocketing out of America's heartland, undermining rapeseed, flour, and beef prices. The crash came in Central Europe in May 1873, as it became clear that the region's assumptions about continual economic growth were too optimistic. Europeans faced what they came to call the American Commercial Invasion. A new industrial superpower had arrived, one whose low costs threatened European trade and a European way of life.
As continental banks tumbled, British banks held back their capital, unsure of which institutions were most involved in the mortgage crisis. The cost to borrow money from another bank — the interbank lending rate — reached impossibly high rates. This banking crisis hit the United States in the fall of 1873. Railroad companies tumbled first. They had crafted complex financial instruments that promised a fixed return, though few understood the underlying object that was guaranteed to investors in case of default. (Answer: nothing). The bonds had sold well at first, but they had tumbled after 1871 as investors began to doubt their value, prices weakened, and many railroads took on short-term bank loans to continue laying track. Then, as short-term lending rates skyrocketed across the Atlantic in 1873, the railroads were in trouble. When the railroad financier Jay Cooke proved unable to pay off his debts, the stock market crashed in September, closing hundreds of banks over the next three years. The panic continued for more than four years in the United States and for nearly six years in Europe.

Encountering an ordinary, hard-working American, a self-employed plumber, The Candidate of Change puts his foot in his mouth.
The plumber's name is Joe Wurzelbacher. He works 10-12 hours a day. He wants to buy a truck and expand his business, maybe hire an assistant. But he is concerned that his success will be punished--in the form of higher taxes.
“Your new tax plan is going to tax me more, isn’t it?” Wurzlebacher asked.
“It’s not that I want to punish your success,” Obama replied. “I just want to make sure that everybody who is behind you, that they’ve got a chance for success too. My attitude is that if the economy’s good for folks from the bottom up, it’s gonna be good for everybody … I think when you spread the wealth around, it’s good for everybody.”
No wonder "Joe Six-Pack" finds Obama frightening. The mysterious politician, who has never worked what many Americans would refer to as "a real job" in his entire life, aims to oppress small business owners in order to "spread the wealth around."
If you want to deepen and prolong the recession, transfer wealth from the middle and working classes to the welfare class and the Third World, and cripple, if not kill, what is left of American industry in the name of "saving the planet" and creating "green collar jobs," vote for Obama. Otherwise, vote for McCain.

Foreign Confidential....
Proving that weakness invites aggression, Iran's monstrous mullahocracy has hardened its anti-American stance in anticipation of an Obama victory.
A top aide to Iran's Hitlerian monster-in-chief, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, said Saturday that the nuclear-arming, Islamist nation would hold talks with the United States only if its forces leave the Middle East and Washington ends its support for Israel.
Mahdi Kalhor, an adviser to Ahmadinejad on cultural and media affairs, told the official Iranian News Agency that as long as US forces remain in the region and the US backs Israel, talks will not take place.
The frontrunner in the US Presidential race, Democrat Barack Hussein Obama, has promised to meet with any foreign leader, including Ahmadinejad, without preconditions.
Obama's proposals for "aggressive diplomacy" and "engagement" with Iran (code for appeasement) are backed by Zbigniew Brzezinski, a notorious anti-Semite, who, as National Security Advisor to President Jimmy Carter, supported (some would say masterminded) the Islamist overthrow of Iran's pro-US, modernizing monarch, Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi.
